Border Community Tour - Closest date for TXTA

the border community roadshow is finally set to touch down in mexico at the beginning of december, with james holden and petter (live). the following dates are already confirmed, but watch this space for more dates as they come in...

1st december : skizzo, monterrey
2nd december : city hall, mexico city

Besides, can't we have these guys play somewhere in Texas?

By the way, the new release from James Holden vs Milky Globe- "Sunspots" is out on now.

Wow, I am not surprised Skizzo booked them.

**crosses fingers for something closer**

I'll prob. make it to this one, never been to the skizzo but my friends say it's one of the darkest and sickest clubs in Mexico. No wonder why Monterrey has a fast-emerging scene along with Ciudad Juarez.

yeah but they beat up Steve Lawler in Guadalajara.

Jury's still out on whether or not he brought that on himself.

One of my friends went and brought back some pics from a show last year (some resident puto that was spinning d&b). I gotta tell ya, the lasers I saw on those pics from that club made me think this kid went to Priviledge or Amnesia in Ibiza. I would have never thought that Mexico would have such a scene...especially the loads of people that go.

no kidding! the pics are insane...

anyone down for a trip? i'll go to either [or both] but refuse to travel alone. and i'm sure y'all know -- when booked far enough in advance, there are cheap non-stop [plugAAplug] flights to mexico.

Yeah we have a crew that's already planning the trip for this. Thankfully i have two buddies that study in Monterrey's TECH UNI.

FYI / Monterrey and Guadalajara are 2 different areas (i.e - New York and Texas).

Monterrey has a very decent electronic dance scene, better crowd and of course, higher prices.

Last time James Holden played in Monterrey was in Desertfest. I saw the videos and man, that was insane.

Ok, so now that I'll be in town, how 'bout some details on a potential road trip? I'd love to go, but I need details, Sir, details!

How soon is "soon"? If it's not within the next 18 days, I'll have to task-organize it through 3rd ACR.

The first time i saw James was during wmc 05. He started playing at 6:00a.m at club space on a monday night (first party of the conference).

The night, named "phuture" hosted artists such as m.a.n.d.y, tiefschwarz, damnian lazarus, massielo, luke fair and ulrich schnauss, where james had the honour of closing the night.

I have to say, his act surpassed my expectations and eventhough you might listen to his sets on your pc, car and what not, the feeling of seeing this guy play live is unbelievable; Great music all the time, no cheese, underground and forward thinking. It sad how still some people relate him to his old, old, old trance productions.

The atmosphere he creates surpasses much of what many other djs try to accomplish...

There i said it,
