need suggestions?
halo~~ i need suggestions from all of u cool djs
.
here is the story....
i just saved up some money(cdn 3000,us 2000)to buy dj equips(i want to be a dj too!!)
and i got 1 1200m3d deck already.(my b'day gift from gf)
so now,its time to buy the rest of parts.
i intend to buy another m3d,which cost cdn 900 in my local store.
and a hd-25 headphone. which cost another cdn 280 i think?
so i have cdn 1820(us 1213) left to buy mixer and cartridges.
and here is the question. what MIXER and cartidges should i buy?
there r 3 mixer in my mind? djm 500, PCV-275,and Allen & Heath Xone 32
.can someone compare 3 of them? or there has some better mixer?
i know that i dont even know how to beatmatch yet,but i want a mixer that good enough to last a long long time,so i dont need to change mixer after 1 year or something.
also i saw there has so many different cartridges, price from 50 to 100 plus, should i buy cheap ones or expensive ones? is there really a different?
another question is,its cost us 600 to buy a m3d in my local store,is that a fair price? or i should order decks and mixer online?
ur suggestion will be important
$900 cdn is alot for a turntable, maybe you can pick up a used deck, or get an mk2, which is the same thing minus a bunch of useless features, and save yourself $100-$200...
headphones, well, there are many threads in this forum about that subject. But $280 again is alot for a pair of headphones. I think you can do better for that price.
cartridges, well, if you want the best, get some ortofon concordes, and that should set you back another, $200-$300.
which leaves you the mixer, which i can't comment, because i haven't used all three.
But keep this in mind - will you have enough money left to buy vinyls? that's important, because if you want to keep up with your music, you'll need a steady source of income. $15+tax for each record drains your wallet quick. :P
You Cant afford the xone, it costs ~1100 CDN
but that is what I would reccomend.
TTs, should cost you 750
thanx for the tips quddha and j-spot =)
but i need more info about mixers.....
can anyone do a review on those 3 mixer i mentioned above,
or suggest me other mixers? ur infomation will be really important.
by the way.at tomlee music store in vancouver.they sell 799 plus tax
= 912 is that way to much for m3d?
o yeah.i already bought lot of records already.
so 3000 cdn is my buget for another deck,1 mixer,1 headphone
and cartridges.
any other suggestion plz?

i recently picked up a xone:32 and i couldn't be happier with it
i am in love with the vcf filters
the only drawback of the mixer that i found is on the 3-band eq's for each channel...they don't have a kill
they only range from -26 to +6 db
as opposed to the normal -32 to +8 db
though if you want to cut you can use the vcf filters for thata nd it gets a much cleaner cut
and i don't know where j-spot is shopping...but i don't think you'll find the xone:32 for anything less than 1300 after taxes
thanx for the info kid_lax ^_^
plz give me more suggestions plz.

o come on ppl..........tell me what do u think
about djm 500, PCV-275,and Allen & Heath Xone 32
which one of them is better?
although I haven't really used all three, If I had a choice, I'd take the allen & heath, just by looking at what the mixers have to offer.
