Dunno Tech/rock guitar with software?

Hi!

I was wondering; is there some nice software that provides good (I know I know only real guitar can make those perfect sounds ) guitar sounds? I was hoping some electric/dirty/rock guitars? I am not after loops....

And if there is some way to get those sounds in Reason, awesome

I made this with some Subtractors in Reason awhile ago and it sounds guitarish to me:

Here are the Combis and RNS used to make it, if you're interested:

"Guitar" part

I was kind of obsessed with Loveless by My Bloody Valentine at the time.

If you want really authentic sounds, though, the only way is to capture an actual guitar in a good recording environment...

Your best bet is to get an acoustic guitar multisample, and use a plugin like NI's Guitar Rig to get all the pedals, speaker simulation, and other effects. You can try to synthesize it, but I've never had much success in that area. Samples are not hard to find; Spectrasonics has lots of guitar libraries, Kontakt comes with several acoustic guitars, etc.

Guitars are like piano in a sense though - even if you recreate the instrument perfectly, it won't sound authentic unless it's either played by a human or you carefully adjust every single note and velocity to "humanize" it. Sometimes you don't need that authenticity - all depends on the track. If that is what you want, though, you'll get better results with a crappy sample and a lot of dynamic/rhythmic variation than you will with a great sample played mechanically.

there is also the vitual instrument option . i like using samples also, as im not an accomplished guitar player neither do i have the equipment or knowledge to record them wisely. Good guitar samples/loops with a VST like Guitar Rig can get u totally realistic sounds. Check out Harvey Keiteil?? (is it right?) psychedelic guitar sample CD. Run it through NI Guitar RIG, or Amplitube. Experiment a little, ull get good results right away. But as i said, i also find it very expressive to be able to play a guitar with midi keyboard as a Virtual instrument. For this the best is: Refx Slayer 2!!!!!
it has a great sound , it may not be very realistic or organic playing, but for technoish riffs and quick licks is great! you sould at least try it, u might find a very pleasent surprise!!!!
