[Review] One Love @ Element 9/15
Hey! How was this party? I got sick and stayed in bed unfortunately.
Haven't heard anything. Was it that good?
I too was under the weather, I want to know how things went down!
+1 lovers
Unfortunately I got there a little later than I had wanted to and I missed Joel's set. I caught some of Tae & Teddy's set, which was nice. No big bangers but solid mixing all around. Kai, the headliner didn't do anything for me. Then around 3 Tyas and Al from Deep Spell came on and ripped it. They played some great tracks (Pryda - Shadows, DJ Grad - 99 Pianos) and really had the place moving more than it had all night. Drawing a blank on what other tracks were played....Swoop - Swoopalicous...maybe? The venue is great. Looking forward to the next party there.

yeah but as a fellow DJ, i can say, after many experiences, you end up learning ur lesson, which is to not come close to overshadowing the headlining DJ.... you get dirty looks if u do so, and the management will probably never bring u again.... in a perfect world, only extremely peak-time and energetic DJs are headliners but its always not too much fun to open up for some1 like Kai (in my opinion, as i would imagine)... no offense to him, but i see Kai as an opening DJ (just like i see people like Serge Devant and plenty others)... hope the party went well, every1s saying great things bout Element, lets hope for some more parties!
the point is we all work/study plenty of hrs per week
thus the lasthing i want to hear are warm-ups leading to
a second party who statisticaly might not do much either
i would never care about established lame policies as to
whato play or not i would solely focus on playing non
stop energy everything less is just boring that's why
people keep having drinks instead of dancing in most
parties i knowhen tek wants he can play nicely as he did
in a boat party a while ago with strength and precision
like a ninja

Well all you haters I went and had a great time. I think that each set flowed into to the next one very well and kept me happy all night. The venue is AWESOME!!! 1love and GN and TFST did a great job gettin the locals out in force and showing us all a good time (something we all want but never seem happy with once we get it
)
I am hoping that there will be many more parties there with all these DJ's spinning AGAIN.
Nice to see all the old faces again, always makes the night better when you see friends all around havin a good time.
On to Carl and DT now.....

All I keep thinking about was that Kai played Angry Skies. Oh yeah... that's what i'm talkin' about! I had an excellent time. The venue is beautiful and it was great to hang out with the locals!
As for my short review, we had fun for the time that we were there. We took off had to run to Love a few tracks into Kai's set, but we caught the end of Doug and Joel's set and all of Ted and Tae's. Seemed like Ted had one too many Red Bulls, as he was bouncing all over the place behind the stage having a blast during their set.
It was good seeing everyone out for the time we were there. It was too bad we had to split the night between the two parties, because both were a good time.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to support our shindig! Hadn't seen a vibe like that in a long time. Props to Kai and the locals. Everyone kept dancing till the end. BTW, if anyone has any pics, please upload them here: http://groovanauts.com/pictures/sho...ry.php?cat=3253

Awsome party as always!! I deff had more fun at this one than the one after PVD....but that's prob because I actually remembered this night haha.
Joel and Doug put down a great opening set.....some great tracks that I can't ID at the moment. Can't wait to hear them bang it out for the closing set next time!! Ted and Tae deff brought a diffrent sound to the table and I was diggin it......that deep dark underground is always a pleasure on the ears. Ted deff was bouncin around like a jumping bean....was great to see him having such a good time spinning. I really liked Kai's set.....first time seeing him and he ripped it!! Tyas and Deep Spell put down an awesome closing set.....couldn't ask for more. Everybody there was having a great time.....One Love is starting to form into the Party we want to have once a month. This is the vibe NYC has been missing for some time now.
Photos coming soon!
stfu colishitforbrains..
actually i dont even care what u said, im just pissed that ur stupid pic ruined the thread format and i cant read properly without horizontal scrolling.
anyway, i was under the weather as well, with loads of homework to do and then work the next day. that said, glad everyone had a good time, hope to make it out to the next!
My friends and I had a long night on the town so we were at Element for like an hour until a little pass 3am. The crowd was much different then at the PvD afterhours and the vibe was different, but at least the turn out in numbers was a lot larger. Whoever was on the decks before 3am playing that Tech had been doing a great job.
Thank You 1love.
SUPPORT THE LOCAL DJ
was def a solid night
unfortunately missed joels set but heard a bit of tae and teddy's set, they did a solid job opening for kai. too bad kai wasnt too good haha. i think if i heard that "put ur hands up in the air" acca again, im gonna shoot myself. but right when al and ryan went on...MADNESS. they ripped it apart. shadows, piano 99, sedna..solid tracks and mixing. they were the highlight of the night imho. thats whats soo good about closing, you can literally tear it down as much as you want and they both did a terrific job at that. great seeing every1 coming out and supporting the locals. thats something you guys ought to do more, we need that and count on you to keep doing that in the future.
was there electro there? or was that the following night?
My friend simon said he just got back from spinning there this weekend...
