Someone will need to clarify...but the Sega CD failed largely because of all the FMV games that invaded the market. ya know, the ones with movie graphics except for an animated gun cursor and a health bar.

And, Ill never forget the first time I played Duke Nukem 3D. All the nudity, blood, guts, swearing....I felt like such a rebel playing it. of course i was young.

No doubt it failed but personally I adored that system. Would play it for hours on end. Even though the FMV games killed it, they were still class to me. Especially Night Trap, which sparked so much controversy. I still have my Sega CD 32X version of the game. The best games for Sega CD had to be Working Designs' (may they now R.I.P.) line of RPGs. LUNAR, LUNAR: Eternal Blue, VAY and Popful Mail. I still have all of those as well. I really wish my Sega CD still worked.

No offense, but you are old! Atari 2600 memories are seriously, seriously old school. I wasn't even alive to see the NES come out.

P.S: I don't have the energy or enthusiasm to complete my list.

He's not the only one. The 2600 was also my first gaming system. For me it was all about Haunted House, Demons to Diamonds, River Raid, E.T., and Raiders of the Lost Ark, among many others. I didn't get my NES until 1988.

Ya know whats interesting...EGM considered Sonic CD to be one of the greatest games of all time in one of their top 100 lists a few years back. I dunno if I agree since I only played the game like 2 or 3 times, but the game WAS pretty badass.

Working Designs FTMFW. they developed the unbelievable Dragon Force for Sega Saturn. one of the greatest games of all time.

dude. chrono trigger was such an amazing game I still cry to this day about how beautiful a game it is. I wish there was a true sequel to it. Chrono Cross wasn't imo. Lots of great games there.

haha man I feel like that sometimes. I can't get out of my head the first moment I played ff9. I was sooooo addicted I thought my mom was Zidane.

I never tried Sonic CD, but I'll def. take your word for it, chief.

Working Designs also made Shining Wisdom, Albert Odyssey and Magic Knight Rayearth, some pretty great RPGs for the American Saturn. I hear about Dragon Force but never got to buy it.

I played that game on the SNES! Now I am interested in what else you've played, because that was a really weird/obscure (to my knowledge) game.

All I remember is getting out the cage, the gun/shield thing and making it to the elevator that went to the tower and sewer. In other words, I barely remember what happened.

was another world similar to flashback?

lol @ sega cd hehe

what was 'river raid'? i remember playing a game in primary school on a computer, we had the good old apple IIe haha. it was like you were shipwrecked or something? or camping and you lived in this cave, you could forage for berries to eat or something, eventually to win you build this raft and go off on the river...

i think if you never moved the controller to make mario jump higher you haven't lived

There is actualy a remastered version of Another World that came out a few months ago. Made by the original author, it cost about 10 (if i remember correctly) and now runs in 1024x768 It amazing how this old game is much, much more fun to play than many newer ones with badass graphics but cprappy everything else.

The first videogame I ever played was Ms. Pac-Man in my grandparents appartment when I was... well, as soon as I was intelligent enough to move the little guy around the screen (I was probably 2 or 3). They also had an F1 racing game that was badass, as well as asteroids.

When I was 4, my cousin showed me his ultra-cool Nintendo, and showed me the fastest route to beat Super Mario Bros, as well as the infinite lives (almost) trick.

When I was 5, I got my own Nintendo, and beat Super Mario Bros in my first shot

Games like:

Ice Hockey
Metal Gear
Super Mario 3
Jaws

All bring that nostalgia back
