Review: Digweed + Luke Fair @ Dragonfly

Wow what a night

Luke Fair's set was up and down for me. Some great parts, some part were just meh. Still had me dancing quite hard!

Digweed....diggers is diggers. When he dropped Pete Heller - Simpler, the place went nuts. Digweed always sharp, always serious, not smiling, but sure rips the place apart!

What a shame they stopped him at 3:40AM, lots of pple were still around, wanting more!

Great nite at a fair price...now gotta wake up for work soon!

dig to the weed;
fuck to the yes;

very, very nice meeting some of you cats and very sweet ladies, as well as my two favorite TAs (thanks for saving my sanity before i three-point turned my ass outta there).

bed time, more tomorrow.

sick sick sick.
Im loving dragonfly , definatley worth the drive.
luke fairs opener was superb, built the energy perfectly for digweed.
digweed was absolutley twisted, his beats had me marching full force (jonjon u know what im talking about) on the dancefloor, kudos diggers.

staff was super friendly and i never usually notice that kinda stuff.
nice to meet frase n digitalmp

this would've been cool to hit up, but unfortunately it had to be on a wednesday night... i did get my luke fair & diggers fix at labour of love, but you can never really get enough of those guys... and yes, that pete heller track is insanity... such a cool tune! hope everyone enjoyed "the john digweed experience" : )

Posted by Irishaddict on Sep-21-2006 11:35:

Good tunes. Nice seeing everyone! And Jay, I didn't give you a dirty look this time.

Posted by Yohan on Sep-21-2006 13:57:

Digweed was amazing! Had an awesome time last night despite the fact my friends ditched me at 12:30 to go gambling. bastards.
Tune of the night for me..Pete Heller - Simpler

The beats were absolutely disgusting last night. I didn't expect such dirt from Digweed.

I dig the Dig, but holy shit, his beats were on just a different level of nasty. A million tracks in a row that I've never heard before.

When I asked Ry which track was on and he didn't know, I asked Milos. When his answer was "track of the night", I didn't even bother trying to ID anymore.

and that in so many words is Digweed. What's even more fucked up is 4 years from now 80% of the tracks still won't be ID'd. hah

Did he tease 1983 twelve times again? hah

No he didn't and he also did not play it. I put all those eggs back in one basket too. I will learn one day..

Other than that.. had a great night. The tunes were fabulous and the company was even better.

Irishaddict's reaction - "I did not think all these people were coming"

Shanny emerging from the crowd.. surprise of the night.

Meeting of the night.. DigitalMP. Nice to meet you face to face.. as we have lots of mutual peeps..

Carney - Were you okay without Benny closing Dragonfly? I know it just could not have been the same..

On a Wednesday in Niagara Falls now that school has commenced I beg to differ.

dude, digweed playing in a basement on a tuesday morning still would have been predicted as awesome...

PVD in my bedroom on a Sunday afternoon would be awesome.. but it wouldn't draw a huge crowd either for obvious reasons. That's what I'm getting at.

Posted by jon jon on Sep-21-2006 15:13:

This party has been hyped up since the middle of summer, it's no surprise to me that it was busy.

I think you're underestimating the draw is what I was getting at.

lol. where did you disappear to after i went for a smoke? i walked back in and everyone was gone. i went to the front of the dj booth for a while but didnt see any ta's.

digweed was fackin insane. i liked his set last night a lot better than at labour of love. im not a fan of what luke fair plays but i still gotta give the man props for his talent.

nice seeing some ta's out in action on a wednesday night and it was nice meeting a few new ones (i dont remember any of your names..duh)

i didnt take many pics last night because i just wanted to hang out instead of being a photographer but i will post whatever i have soon.
