Nice; thanks!

The venue for Sashas show in Hamburg, Germany this Saturday, 23 September has been changed to SCHNE AUSSICHTEN. For those fans flying in for the gig, there will be free shuttles running from the old venue at the airport, Terminal Tango, to the venue.
Man, it's good to be an EDM fan in Europe.

I'm still trying to decide if I should go to Sasha or AvB. I want to see Sasha as I saw AvB in April. However, listening to the newest set on Sasha's site, it doesn't seem that high energy. Has anybody seen him live and can tell me whether or not he spins like this particular set?

i saw him about 3-4 years ago
he played very proggy
like kevin shiu type of proggy

I guess thats why Kevin Shiu was handpicked by Sasha to tour with him in Asia this year.

forget seeing AVB is my best recommendation.

my second recommendation, is if you're a sasha newbie.. never try to base your assessments off of listening to a downloaded set of his in your house/car etc. If you want to see what he's really about you've got to see him play live a few times. There's good reason he's received a higher accumulated average ranking than any DJ on the planet. He's been top 5 on any of the major DJ polls since they began. No one in history has had that kind of staying power.

Sasha owns live. I like AvB, but this is not even close to a choice for me.

Sasha did play trance at one time.. and probs one of the best trance sets ever recorded.

1998/99 NYE Live at Alexandria Palace

Nuclear Hyde - "Noomraeer" (Massive)
Orkidea - Unity (Steelfish)
Libra - Anomaly (Calling Your Name)(Platipus)
Tilt - "What's This" (Hooj)
Caspar Pound - Pioneer's Of The Warped Groove (Hope)
Robert Junior And Danny Polanco - "See The Light" (Empire State)
artist unknown - "Silhouette" (Koncept)
Space Manoeuvres - "Stage One" (Hooj)
Lucid - "Crazy" (white label)
Ecano - "Run" (Tetsuo)
Mono Culture - "Free" (Nerve)
Danny Tenaglia - "Turn Me On" (Bedrock mix) (777)
Red Devil - "Gamelan" (Massive)
Paul Van Dyk presents Humate - "Love Stimulation" (Deviant)
Armin - "Lost Soul Society" (Cyber)
Breeder - "Twilo Thunder" (Rhythm Syndicate)
Laguna Seca - "The Flow" (Superfly)
Arrakie - "Airaforce" (Fluid)
Lost In Space - "Nuclea Hyde" (white label)

I've cleaned up this tracklist compared to what's floating around online, corrected most of it and updated the labels the tracks were on. Back then you saw lots fo tracks listed as (777) which was a company that made acetates. We've come a long way! I've seen Sasha and Jimmy Van M's record crate before.. and it was just ALL Acetates. The pre-CD era wasn't that long ago!

Posted by apri_peel on Oct-08-2006 20:17:

hm, i suppose i should say right now sasha would not play trance
cant blame him
most of the stuff coming out right now is pretty weak

you got that set anywhere julian?
that looks pretty tasty

btw, why was the show moved to celebrities?
i was looking forward to commodore

and when are tickets going on sale? i want!
