Could Nintendo Surpass its Competitors??

I think this time around, it's very possible. The stuff I'm seeing from the big N has me in a dizz. Twilight Princess will steal countless hours from my life that's for sure. When you hear the makers themselves stating this game is incredible, it tells you something. You also have sooo much to look forward to in the future for the Wii. The quality of the games is where it counts. I understand all of us are graphic whores, but the Wii's graphics aren't to be doubted. Now against the Ps3's and 360's yeah. It also seems they are getting lots of 3rd party support which is a very important factor in a console's ability to sell itself. Hopefully the new control fits in nicely.(from what I hear it feels great) If there's one thing for sure, they've got momentum heading into this new war. And yes, I'm a nintendo whore. Buy a Wii bitches!!!

i know there are a number of things to bitch about. And I wanna hear 'em. The $250 price tag is ok with me. Why are so many people bitching?

I normally don't play a lot of consoles because I have a pretty nice PC and not much time, but I think that this time around I may get a Wii. They seem to be putting some new things into the arena, but I'll just have to see. $250 is a lot for me. $600 is even more haha... I definitely won't be buying a PS3

I hope Nintendo gets more support from third parties, so they won't make too many kiddy games again.

But I'm definately buying a Wii and I hope Nintendo can compete with the other 2.

I heard in a recent interview that there will be TONS of 3rd party support. On the main topic of discussion, the price of the Wii is what will start the ball rolling. THe virtual consoles, wiimote, and game titles will keep it moving. I thin kthe Wii has huge potential. Many paeople are using the term Wii60 - buying the Wii and xbox360 for the same price as the ps3.

I thought so, yes. But I'm not very sure... Can anyone confirm ?

Posted by nfekted on Sep-24-2006 13:21:

yes it can. i checked IGN.com's Wii faq and it states that there are four gamecube controller ports on the Wii. If it has these then it without a doubt should play GC games. And don't forget about the Wii Virtual Console, for us oldschool gamers who used to play the oldies but goodies, it's a great way to bring back memories granted it's gonna run you about $5 for nes, snes games and $10 for N64 games I hear. It's a great alternative to have for the nostalgic sufferers.

That doesnt tell you anything. Why would makers of the game say "this game sucks and nobody should play it?" of course they are going to rave about it. peter molyneux raved about Fable for endless interviews; claiming it would be the greatest RPG EVER.

it certainly wasnt.

When was the last time you read an interview with Nintendo about a first party game in which they themselves stated that that specific game was going to be incredible??? I know Nintendo pretty good man. Anyways, Fable? lol.
C'mon this is Zelda!

I dunno man. I didnt play the last Zelda that came out, but people said it was shitty. So with that being said, Zelda's reputation isnt exactly perfect. But then again, this IS a Zelda with next-gen realistic graphics; none of that cel-shaded bullshit. i mean, that style looks cool in some games, but NOT zelda.

I havent read too many Nintendo interviews, but seriously, you shouldnt take THEIR opinion on their OWN product too seriously. The game will probably rock entire worlds, but im just saying that believing an interview like that is kinda stupid.

im just curious as to how well this controller works...

i surmise your right. I shouldn't be getting so high off of those comments. But hell, I've been hyped up for a while now.

Yeah, the regular controller works with the Wii. The wireless Wavebird will not work with the Wii unfortunately.

I can't wait to try this system out. I haven't been much of a Nintendo fan since the SNES, so it'll be interesting to see whether they could win a jaded gamer back.

The Wii definetely looks like it'll give us gamers a new way of playing games. If people dont like it, they have 2 other choices to choose from. Im glad Nintendo chose the route they are going.
