Israel's right to exist

I think the recent debate makes it necessary to pull out some facts about the Israeli/Palistine conflict (the English is not to pretty ;D).

Btw, I didn't write this; a Danish guy wrote it in a thread I'm just translating it.

We have just been through another crisis in the Middle East and close to a disaster - again. Since 1948, where the state of Israel was established, several Arabian countries has tried to wipe Israel of the map.

I admit that the conflict is not easy and filled with severe problems. I admit that one cannot speak about "the good guys" and "the bad guys" because there is good and bad guys on either side.

Nevertheless, I have choosen to support Israel, to be a friend of Israel and you stick with your friends even when they make mistakes.

Facts about Israel and Palistina.

1. Jerusalem is holy for Jews and Muslims. In Islam Jerusalem is ranked as no. 3 after Mekka and Medina, whilst for Jews it's ranked as no. 1. Jerusalem is mentioned 600 times in the Old Testament and not even mentioned in the Koran.

2. The world has never known a Palistine state. During 400 year 1517-1917 � Palistina was a part of the Osmanian empire. In 1917, English troops conquered Jerusalem and Palistina.

3. In 1917 the British government stated the position, agreed at a British Cabinet meeting on October 31, 1917, that the British government supported Zionist plans for a Jewish "national home" in Palestine.

In 1947 FN devided Israel and Palistina into 2 parts. Agreed by the The zionistic world organization and disagreed by all Arabian states. So this is the second time the world decided to establish a jewish state in Palistina.

In May 1948 the Arab started the war against Israel.

In the entire period Jews has been living in the area. They didn't just show up and kicked out thousands of Arabs. The truth is that they were encoaraged by "their own" to leave. While this was happening Jews living in Arabian countries were send home to Israel.

4. The term "Palistinien" didn't exist before 1950. The Arabs had the chance for 18 years. But they didn't.

PLO, Palestinian Liberation Organisation, was founded by the Arab League in 1964, its goal was originally the destruction of the State of Israel through armed struggle, and replacing it with an "independent Palestinian state" between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. Hamas and Hizbollah has the same goal.

5. The establishment of Israel was not a result of the second World War. The foundation of the jewish state has been a fact since 1920 ( see 3.)

6. Immediately after the war in 1967 Israel eagerly encoagered to peace-negociations. But the Arab League continually said (stubbornly to 1990) no to negociation, no to peace and no to the acknowledgment of Israel.

7. Israel's ability and eagerness to peace is well-documented; Egypt, Jordan, Madrid and Oslo, Camp David. Arafat had obtained 90 % of his demands but that wasn't enough.

8. Israel uses methods that breaks even the laws of war. This is not acceptable but the differences are clear.
For instance, the reactions from the 2 sides. When a suicide-terroist kills civil israeli people the Palistinien side rejoices. When Isral kills civil Palistiniens they mourn their deaths.

No peace without a twostate-solution. I dearly hope that they will make peace.

what information/experience does one need to 'have a clue' on what goes on in a particular conflict anyway?

I did read it, the first couple of ones at least, then i noticed that every point you raised has been argued to death, hence i proceeded to call you a noob and point you to the search function so you can widen your points of view
