Is trance music emotion-enforcing?
Lately i've been under the impression that trance music has an influence on your emotions.
When i'm feeling a bit down, and i listen to trance, it makes the feeling stronger (depends on what tracks you're listening too of course)
When i'm feeling happy (right now actually
, i get a euphoric feeling, making the happiness even bigger.
Does anyone agree/has experience with this kinda thing?
it's boring and old I can tell you that.

Well, yes but there are lots of other music types that can enforce certain emotions.
Additionally, it depends on yourself concerning which kind of person you are.

The question is: Is there any other genre that is more emotion-enforcing than Trance?

Nowadays it seems like trance is trying way too hard to enforce emotion. It's the relative emo EDM.
Good trance makes me feel kinda dreamy...
emotional trance
fucking pansies.
Emotional trance...hahahahahaha. That's some trippy shit. The only songs that actually get me depressed is those lame ass rock songs singing about how shitty their life is.

Lots of minor chords tend to sound 'emotional' if you want to call it that, but trance is certainly not the only kind of music to use this.
It probably also depends on what kind of music you're into. While I can listen to trance and chill, some of my friends reckon it makes them feel tense.
The more Epic Trance tunes can definitely bring out some positive emotions. This is even moreso during a DJ set when you're out at a club where there's stereo systems that really help you appreciate those melodies. There's a reason why you always hear the crowd start to all scream together at those predictable breakdowns - you can't help it if you're really getting into the music.
They don't call it Big Room music for nothing.
One of the reasons i've been so into trance over the years is that it is more emotional than some other forms of EDM. It does have a tendency to over-do it sometimes, but there is no denying that some of the most emotional releases have come from the trance side of things, as well as the progressive house as well. A few emotional tracks to check out....
Hydra - Affinity (Thrillseekers Dub)
Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Mark Otten - Mushroom Therapy (Lightscape Mix), Crossroads (Rio Addicts)
Kalafut & Fygle - 3579 KM, Lullaby, Astra, Novocaine (Mark Otten Remix)
Accadia - Blind Visions (Original Club Mix) and (Ambient Mix)
Tastexperience - Summersault
Hooligan - Hear You Now (Grand Chillas Mix) (more prog than trance, but very emotional)
Illuminatus - Hope (a classic)
Humate - Love Simulation (Oliver Lieb Remix)
Envio - Touched By The Sun, Time To Say Goodbye, For You
Digital Witchcraft - Fingerpaint (prog breaks, but a very melodic, emotional piano melody)
Chicane - Leaving Town, Halcyon, No Ordinary Morning, Early,
Micro de Govia - Vital Spark, Aura Indigo, Voller Sterne, Dayturn
Saltwater (Thrillseekers Ambient Mix)
Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Atlantis Mix) and (Armin van Buuren Remix) (of course....probably the ultimate emotional track IMO)
a bunch of others....but these are what I think...when I think "Emotional"....almost like trance-mood music.

Couldnt agree more Spirit5, those tuens do it for me as well.
I would say pulser - cloudwalking is the most emotional track I've heard. But generally speaking, there's more emotional stuff than trance. Try some Brahams - he writes some pretty dramatic melodies. Gives me shivers every time.
[edit] actually, I take that back. Humate - Love Stimulation (Oliver Lieb soft mix) is the most emotional track I've heard. Those lamenting synths just have such a sad and almost eerie feel to them.

The Mystery - Fever.
Never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
this suddenly turned into a name tracks that make you cry thread.
and no, i don't like trance because it gets me altered and stresses me out.
I think downtempo and deep house are much more "emotional" for lack of a better term than trance.
