I reckon it looked like they were waiting for him, or for anyone to walk past. Might have just been looking to mug someone, or maybe someone paid them to bash him. Guess they figured he'd stop and start mouthing off to them like most people would, then they'd beat him up. But he caught them by surprise.

That's the other reason I think the two dudes were waiting for him. Either the guy filming knew they were waiting for the other dude, or he knew those two gypsies and knew they cause trouble.
