Probl;em with FL
Hey people i need a bit of help, i was working on a bassline and was adding a string sample i found in the banks and putting it down a few octaves to get the sound right and when i did a little edit to the wave form as you can with FL, it doesnt let me change the pitch of any wave sample anymore. Like il load a totally different sound sample and it wont change if i move the notes up or down.
If anyone knows whats happened i would greatly appreciate any help
Thanks.

When you edit a sample it FL it gets converted into another file format, which (if im not mistaken) is .mp3; fl doesnt allow you to change the pitch thru the main controller.
There is time strech facility located within the sample properties eg. time = 1 bar / 2 bar /3 bar / 4 bar / none . Next to that is a pitch controller; use that.
PM if u need xtra help.
Cheers

thanks man i hadnt realised, though it seems to be happening with a few samples that i didnt edit, il look into it now though
thanks
What's this about FL not pitch-shifting mp3's? It does that perfectly fine, last I checked.
The problem is mostly that time-stretched samples can't pitch-shift, for some reason, probably having to do with not wanting to recalculate every parameter. When you check the samples you're using. Make sure that there is no time-stretching going on. I couldn't say why, but your samplers may be starting with time-stretching as a default. One set of kick samples does that to me. I just reset all the knobs.
thanks for explaining that man
I ended reinstalling my FL lol that one sample still didnt work but the others did which is good and mp3's do pitch shift Thanks!
