CD Players... need some help please.
I'm planning to buy some DJ equipment around summer / fall and I'm starting to check out what gear is out there. For mixer I'm almost positive I will go with the Numark DM3002X for $320 CDN... but I'm still figuring which CD players to go with.
Basically what I need is:
-pitch bend buttons
-backlit/LCD/LED display
-jog wheel
If I end up with a dual cd player system, I think I will go with the Denon DN1800F, which I have heard plenty good word about. I would prefer going with 2 single CD players, but not sure which ones out there are good or not.
Which CD players have you used and what can you tell me about the quality of them?
EDIT: I want to keep it under $800 CDN for the CD unit(s) if possible.
I know that the Denon 1800 is a very good cd-player.
I have also worked with the Numark CDN 20-S, but this one doesn't have a jog-wheel.
And for as far as I know, the Denon doesn't have one either.
It all depends on your personal preferences.
What I can advice you, is to buy a well known brand. Don't buy a cd-player that no-one has never heard of, because that won't do the job.
If I were you, I'dd go for the Denon.
Good luck
Thanks.
ps. The Denon does have the jog wheel, as seen in this picture:

Under 800?
Get a pair of Pioneer CDJ 100
Those are great. I used them plenty of times and they are so damn ncie. Sweet like candy

Pioneer CDJ 100's are the best choice (imo)
WTF
Tranceformer you stole my avatar
Hehe, anyway go with the Pioneer CDJ-100S, it has a jog dial that eliminates the use of pitch bend buttons simply becuase thats what it does, so you dont need both.
Either go with the Pioneer CDJ-100S, or Denon DN2600F
Yeah, I was reading over the CDJ100S manual yesterday and realised that I could do a pitch bend with the jog dial.
I'm going over pricing to find the best price I can in the US ($540 for a pair of them atm), and then showing that price to a shop in Canada to see how much they will charge me for them (they do US pricematching and a 10% difference as well!!). Now I just gotta wait for them to reply....
Thanks for all your help.

imo....dual cd players are the way to go. Assuming you are going to want to do parties, gigs, etc...it is very easy to just buy a box which will hold your dual cd's, mixer, amp, light board, etc....as opposed to getting a long case that takes up a lot of room and might not hold all your equipment. To be mobile...the dual cd players are the best...preferably Denon 2600's or Numark CDN-88....both are equal in performance imo...numark is about $200 cheaper. Peace
They are $269 US each at www.besttoys.net
Here is a direct link:

I'm not sure if they ship to Canada... which is why I'm trying to get a store (www.AxeMusic.com) to pricematch for me.
If they won't pricematch from that store, I'll get them pricematch www.123dj.com which have them for $300 each.
I'm also trying to get them to pricematch a Numark Matrix 3 mixer, so I'll see how it all goes (they are slow with replies but still helpful).
$269 is a helluva deal, shit I might buy one.
Basically Denon is more reliable and has better dry, proffesional stats... very damn good protected, gots some effects with and the 2100 and 2600 (Don't buy the 1800) have key adjust which is a muts. So I think compared to the CDJ100 they're not as much of a bore!
Plus I've played on all of those and they rox in terms of comfort....
Here's My Advise, I Used To Own The Numark CDN-34s (Dual Decks) And I Can Tell Ya, They Are VERY Good Equipment. I've Been 100% Satisfied 4 The 10 Months That I Have Owned Them. I'm Sure It's Price Is In Your Budget Limits. If You Don't Want Dual Decks My Advise Is To Go For The Pioneer CDJ-100s, They Are Way Underpriced In My Opinion, And I Bet You'll Be Pleased By Their Performance. But Offcoarse That Just Me And My Silly Preferences, Go 4 What U Think Is Best, I Hope I Have Helped You Out.
Thanks.
look, if you're gonna use the CD player at gigs and parties, it's better to get a dual CD player cause it's WAY more compact and you can get yourself a case that holds it with your mixer..... I'm a mobile DJ and I have a dual CD player. I use a Gemini CD-240. it's a great CD player and it has never let me down.... and it's not so expensive too (where I bought it) and it has a 3 year warranty. but it doesn't have any effects or stuff like that (if you want that too). it has a jog well, an up to 16% pitch (you choose between 4%, 8% and 16%), an anti-shock memory buffer, a cue, and all sorts of great features.
anywayz, that's my opinion. if you want 1 dual, I recommend you the Gemini CD-240. if you prefer 2 singals, definately get a couple of Pioneer CDJ-100s.
