this is wierd.........

how come tiesto doesnt play any corsten's tunes or remixes anymore on his gigs. everyone is raping punk and its a sweet ass tune but ive never heard him spin it. and same with corsten. he doesn't play any tiesto's productions. i think if he would drop southern sun it would be awesome cuz the song fits corsten's style in a way. is it because of gouryella splitting up and shit. i dunno. but i feel before they used to play way more of eachother's productions.

Here's some rumours that I've heard over the last year or so when Tiesto came down to Toronto..I think it was his 2nd time...before his launch of TiestoSolo Tour...

DJ Tiesto told a guy (protected identity) down in Toronto when he was spinning at a local record store, "Most of the collaborated productions he has done with Gouryella, Major League, Vimana were originally his ideas, however due to his lack of equipment at that time....he had to complete them in either Armin's or Ferry's place. Tiesto did feel a little cheated in a way as Armin (with "Communication") and Ferry Corsten (with "Out of the Blue")were rising up to fame faster than he ever did (at that time he's got "Theme From Norejfell" which did not fare too good compared to Armin and Ferry)...Considering their age differences....Therefore, he told the guy that "He'll be going solo for however long that maybe..." Whether Ferry or Armin has been taking credit for Tiesto's ideas, I am pretty skeptical on that...as some basslines in Gouryella's tunes does contain the essence of Ferry's EQ.

True or not, that's for you people to decide...but since I heard these news, I reckon that Gouryella would not stay together for long...also Armin & Tiesto have managed to only complete 2 songs - Wonder & Eternity

Plus with the news of Tiesto going Solo...hmm...something's amiss...

Anyhows, I want to leave this thread as only news transmitted by God-Knows-How-Many-Mouths...and how some stories can be told in a totally different version from the original.....

Whatever it is, I think each DJ chooses to play what they feel will entice the crowd as reading the crowd is one important essence in becoming a good DJ....

As for Tiesto not playing Ferry's productions or remixes or vice versa, it might be a Dutch thingy...after all, why would 2 top Dutch Trance DJs wanna play one another's productions when they got a million records to choose from...

My humble 2 cents

What have Ferry and Armin collaborated on?

Posted by zarathustra on Mar-14-2002 00:15:

...other than exhale of course

maybe they are secretely in love, except they dont know it and they dont want each other to know and they think that if they spin each others trax the other may get suspicions...... and one of em is really a girl. or maybe i just have a sick, sick sense of humor and find entertainment in fuckin around like this...???

HAHAHHAHA

Sorry for that, it just popped into my head and I laughed, thought id share the love.

GOLD! Pure GOLD!

Tiesto doesn't want to imbarrass shitty tracks like Lethal Industry by dropping a killer like Elevate afterwards.

well...um...probably...cuz he's competition.

as of that shit of him taking his ideas.... Tiesto COULD NOT MAKE Wonder by himself. It SCREAMS Armin. Same with Gouryella, it's drenched in Ferry's synthy bliss.

Out of the Blue got credit couse it was PHENOMINAL. Tiesto had nothing like that. Besides, he got plenty of respect and attention for Silence, so no bitchin'!

although I doubt tiesto has a grudge on either of the two Dutchies, he shouldn't!

Posted by j_spot on Mar-14-2002 07:46:

well when tiesto was here he played gouryella..tho this was literally DAYS before the announced break ground gouryella

then when ferry was here...hmm..nope, i cant recall any tiesto productions at all...

Posted by Rostros on Mar-14-2002 08:32:

i think its due to , respect , maybe ferry might not have the balls to let him spin his records, how would you feel if someone was playing with your stuff :]

Posted by Great Outdoors on Mar-14-2002 10:35:

Maybe they're just starting to move in different directions musically. Tiesto's getting more prog, isn't he? And Ferry's still pretty much Ferry..

okay, I'm not gonna tell my opinion about this, 'cos it is all rumourstuff etc. etc.

what I DO know however, is that for some reason in interviews Tiesto NEVER answers clear about working with other dj's. he always tries to avoid the subject or saying he prefers working alone, and when it is spoken in an interview I've noticed he blablas a bit and then: next question....without really have given an answer to the previous one...

bit of a shame.. o wait.. that is an opinion... I was not supposed to tell about that

for my 2 cents

I have to agree that he doesnt like talking about other producers and such. Especially when it comes to Armin or Ferry. I think it has to do with competition more than anything. They launched their success practically at the same time by collaborating with one another. Now that their success is going in different directions, different levels, there's a sense of challenge between the 3 and are just careful about what one says about the other? Who knows.
