The Official Champions League 2006 Thread
OK so for some reason I can't open the other official thread I've started so here's a new one...
Match day 2 in today!!! Some exciting games coming up, I'm pumped!!! 
Real Madrid v Dynamo Kiev
Steaua Bucuresti v Lyon
Benfica v Man Utd
Celtic v FC Copenhagen
CSKA Moscow v Hamburg SV
Arsenal v FC Porto
AEK Athens v Anderlecht
Lille v AC Milan

-I suspect the Putos will win this one. Though those Russkie/Ukie teams can be very surprising at times. Depends on how fucked up Real defence is. Roberto Carlos is out, isn't it? 2-0 Real

-Walk over for Lyon. 3-0
Benfica v Man Utd
-Man U scum will want revenge, and are in form right now. I suspect a 1-0, or 2-1 Man U scum score, because it's just not the same without RvN
Celtic v FC Copenhagen
-Possibly most entertaining match of the night. Celtic are on form on SPL and had done well against Man U scum on matchday 1. Copenhagen no one really knows about, but those Danes come up with upsets out of nowhere. Though it's their first CL outing, and they may suck, but I think it'll be a 2-2 draw
CSKA Moscow v Hamburg SV
-Hamburg really needs this one to get back on track. I can see a lot of fluid football. 2-1 Hamburg
Arsenal v FC Porto
-Arse can use this game to get going because they aren't doing so good in EPL right now. But if their CL form carried over from last year, I think Porto has no chance. 2-0 Arse
AEK Athens v Anderlecht
-1-1 draw. Both teams suck. The Greek teams aren't surprise package that they were 2-3 yrs ago. Anderlecht chokes on CL stage last few years also. (And they don't have Kompany no more)
Lille v AC Milan
-Lille keeps coming back. Was very impressed with them last season. Will depend on whether Milan can somehow break down Lille, because this French team plays really tight and well organized defence. I suspect a poucher's goal by Inzaghi will give Milan a 1-0 win

Bordeaux v PSV, 19:45
-Despite PSV's poor showing on Matchday 1 vs Bordeaux, it's always hard to count them out, even if Hiddink is no longer in charge. Bordeaux has not been a strong league in Ligue 1 and may have trouble against PSV. Though PSV lacks a strong striker up front... I think a 1-1 draw
Inter Milan v Bayern Munich, 19:45
-Perhaps the most anticipated fixture of this matchday pits two strong contenders for their respective league titles together. With the demise of Juve, Inter has never been strong as they are now. But Bayern is always been a powerful team, though loss of Ballack may hurt. Another 1-1 in the horizon
Levski Sofia v Chelsea, 19:45
-Chelski will dominate. 2-0 Chelski
Liverpool v Galatasaray, 19:45
-Galatasaray makes a return to CL after 3 years. But Liverpool when they click, they are hard to stop and with Kuyt showing signs of finding his form in Liverpool, I give them the edge. 2-1 Liverpool
Shakhtar Donetsk v Olympiacos, 19:45
-Should be some attacking football going on here and I think Shakhtar is underrated as they have done good showings at CL 2 yrs ago while Greek teams are losing their edge. 1-0 Shaktar
Spartak Moscow v Sporting, 17:30
-Pesky Portuguese side to challenge a well organized Spartak Moscow side. It's hard playing in Russian soil. 1-0 to Spartak is my prediction
Valencia v Roma, 19:45
-Should be a cracker of a match. Valencia fields a scary front two of Villa and Morientes who can almost put the ball in the net at will. Roma is not so shabby either, but I feel that Valencia has more to offer than Roma. 2-1 Valencia
Werder Bremen v Barcelona, 19:45
-Potentially the most entertaining fixture as both teams can attack very well. But Werder Bremen has had defence problems before in CL and will prove to be vulnerable, if Ronaldinho is allowed to roam free. I think Barca will take this one 3-1
