P4 2.8 @ 3.3
abit it7 max 2 (i845)
1gb geil 4200 ram
nvidia geforce 4
sound blaster audigy

check that out for ancient, my laptops even worse:

ibm thinkpad 600x:
P3 600mhz
300mb ram

getting a new PC within the next 6 months hopfully, laptop is good enough to run win 2k, brouse the web and post on ta etc, while learning suse on a dual boot.

Posted by Moongoose on Oct-10-2006 10:53:

You think your desktop is ancinet have a look at mine

Athlon 800
128MB RAM
GeForce 2 MX
120GB HD (i brake one about once every year and a half so i get a new one)
Lite-On DVD+-RW 8x @ 2.4x (i hit the tray with my knee and ripped it out of the unit. Being broke at the time i coudnt buy another one so i picked my box of tools and repaired the damn thing. But it only works on 2.4x for DVD+R and 1x for DVD-R now )

My laptops are slightly better

1. Compaq Evo N1005v
Athlon XP @ 1.5 Gh
256 MB RAM (shared with an ATI Radeon IGP 320M)
30Gb HD
14" display

I am quite satisfied with it but i though it needed more RAM. Unavare of the outrageous prices on compaq spare parts i went and asked how much it would cost to have 1Gb of ram in my machine. I heard the price turned around and for the same money bought a

HP (cant remember the model)
Mobile AMD Sempron 3100+
640+128MB RAM
ATI Radeon XPERESS 200M 128 MB RAM (shared with system RAM)
60 GB HD
SD/MSpro/MMC/SM/XD card reader
wireless, bluetooth, 1Gb LAN adapters
15" display

I think i made a better choice. The only problem is that i cant play Knight of The Old Republic on it. THe game engine doesnt work with graphics cards that share system ram and the game is unplayably slow Im properly pissed that on a cumputer that runs Doom 3, HL2, Far Cry and games likethat without a problem i cant run a simple RPG game.

Just noticed this forum. I like it.

PC at home is:

Intel Pentium D 3.0Ghz

250GB HD
Geforce 7600GT

A three year old computer from Alienware...

AMD FX 51 Processor (2.2 Ghz)
1 GB of PC3200 RAM (400 Mhz)
300 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
BFG Nvidia FX 5950 Ultra
NEC Multisync 22'' CRT Monitor
1 DVD-ROM Drive (4x?), 1 CD-RW Drive (52x)

I have a computer downstairs which is a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 that my dad built and doesn't work too well, the case is faulty, and I also have a computer I never use, a Toshiba with 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 and only 512 MB or Ram...at like only PC2100. Kinda old stuff in it...i'm going to try to sell it next year for a light 15.4 laptop for word processing and surfing the net and such...
