A thread on special forces

Ok there has never been a thread on armed forces so I will begin one and hope you guys expand on the TOPIC and STAY ON TOPIC.

Basically, what I want to know; is how much do we know about special forces. We can post videos and articles about a special force from whichever country and can use youtube and other sources for videos.




My favorite has to be Spetznas. They seem really brutal compare to others. I heard that they raided this terrorist base and they cut the heads of the terrorists. Once, they did that they mailed the heads to the family members.

As far as I'm concerned, Army Rangers are the shit.

Israeli Sayeret Matkal Naval commandos
French Foreign Legion Parachute Regiment
US Army Delta & Marine Force Recon
Russian Spetznaz

All of them are arguably equal in terms of traning, skills, and big fuckin balls on any given operation. Some have had a few more stories told about them (both official and non-official).

My personal fav's would be the SAS. I've read a bunch of books and I love the dry wit and professionalism with which they go about their operations.

you could fill the galaxy with the things that you were ignorant of.

one of the best elite troops in the world. its funny how you would start a thread about something you know so little about. go find some of your returning soldiers that served alongside our SAS and they'll tell you we are the shit.

we lose more soldiers in SAS training than actual combat operations. coz training is fucking hard but once finished we're tough as nails

Not really...sure you might know....but do they go through the fist fight against eachother where they actually bleed and do these deaths occur b/c of phy abuse or some other form of torture?

i have no idea how the deaths were caused. all i know is theres been more deaths in training than in combat coz we're just that hard to kill

Navy seals and than when the marines and than army and than aussie forces came with the supplies; the only problem was that the aussies dranked all the alcohol so everyone don't like them

Sorry dude, my bad, no disrespect meant. Aussie SAS are just as hard as the British. Hard as fuck.

The Selection for the SAS Regiments is some of the most gruelling training in the world. And, it's not for any form of abuse in the least. It's pure physical & mental toughness.

So the US spends half of the worlds military spending and the Russians are just brutal people. They can't compete with the Aussies?

oh, anyone that thinks the US army rangers are elite should read the novels re somalia written by the delta force operatives. their criticism is pretty vicious!

^^ dude, just because a ridiculous sum of money gets spent, doesn't necessarily equate to having the best soldiers.

By that logic, the war in Iraq should be long since done if it was a case of technology & money being the keys to victory.
