Question Serato Recording Your Sets

I just recently purchased serato & love it so far. I was wondering if this program had a recording feature? i would love to record some of my sets

Not too sure about using just the Serato software itself, but I know it's possible if you buy an RCA to 1/8" cable (you can get them dirt cheap from somewhere like Radioshack/eBay), and run this from the record out on the back of your mixer to the line in port on your soundcard. Download a recording program such as Audacity and simply press record.

I ordered Serato this morning () so I'll let you know later on in the week how it works.

See this thread for more info.

sweet thanks man.

im surprised tho, i was predicting serato would have a recording feature

serato by iteself does not. serato jsut plays the tracks and has no post mix input. i'm guessing it will be on SSL2.0 whenever that comes out. so in the meantime, rca-line in unless you have a recording interface.

RCA line-in? i only have a laptop. any other solution?

No Serato doesn't record sets. Use any method you would regularly use to record your sets.

The only way I used to record my sets was through Final Scratch 2. All I have is a laptop with USB & Firwire Inputs, I can't put a soundcard w/RCA's into my laptop.

You don't have a small line in jack on your laptop? If so use an RCA to minijack adapter. I know some laptops don't come with a line in jack so you might be out of luck. But there are really cheap USB soundcards you can get if that is the case. If you are going to pay around $100 don't get the soundblaster card.

Nice Cards, looks like I will have to purchase one of them...
thanks

the only kind of input i have is the MIC, is their anyway I can get that to work?

i use "total recorder" to record my sets... you can download it free on the internet (google it). but yeah, you need a jack that takes the L and R from your mixer and connect it to the back of your computer where the speakers plug in.. the jack is like 5 bucks at any electronics store
