Sander Kleinenberg's 'This Is' Concept

I havn't been around much so I'm not sure if this was discussed, but getting right down to the point.

Does anyone know if Sanders set at This Is London Club (Nov.3) will be done in his recent adapted VJ'ing style?

i think he does all of his sets like this now?

ever since cream '04 in mtl, every time i have seen him it has been this format.

to answer your question this was taken from a facebook group:

=============================
This Is London Presents Sander Kleinenberg
=============================

On Friday (November 3rd), Sander Kleinenberg will be playing at Toronto's This Is London Club, introducing clubbers to his new concept This Is.

This Is will combine both Sanders skills as a top house DJ, with his new love of visual DJing, or VJing, where he utilises the impressive technology behind Pioneers groundbreaking DVJ-X1 DVD player.

Its an idea so special to Sander, that hes even had the name trademarked.

And he plans to take it all around the world.

The Everybody concept is dead, so I needed to find a new identity for my VJing and DJing.

This Is will have a unique theme for every party I do, so This Is Ministry will have a London theme, whereas This Is Pacha will have an Ibiza theme.

And now, the most anticipated event of the year;
This Is London @ This Is London Club, Toronto. Hope to see you there!

This Is interesting, but i don't see it being anything extraordinary. meaning, if you miss it you probably didn't miss much.

I missed it, so what did I miss?

some VJ trivia...

When I DJ'd at a Casey's in Ottawa years ago (this Casey's turned into a club at night), the club had TV screens overhead on the dancefloor. Along with the turntables, a pair of VCRs were also connected to the mixer, and I alternated between video tapes and records at times. We were shipped videos from distributors that were of best video quality, and the audio was as good if not better than vinyl.

This was the late 80s.

so how does this work exactly?? like is he mixing videos at the same time as mixing songs? or does every sing file have some like video attached to it which plays while the song is playing?

i would be interested to know how your actually suppose to use pioneers new DVDJ or whatever you call it...

I saw what he did @ Stereo back in April, it wasn't so great, I mean it's not really exciting... I've seen videos from clubs in Paris (the DJ was Joakim Garraud) and he did that Vjing thing too which worked much nicer.. maybe sander will get better

Forgive my ignorance guys but what is the "everybody" concept which is dead.

Also, what does he play on the screens behind him. Vaguely I remember him having a large screen @ decadence (WICKED SET) but all I can remember on it was his name every so often.

Btw, it wasn't a sketchy night...hehe just my first all-access event @ Guv and I was a bit overwhelmed.

if i remember hearing right he made about six different edits not too long ago, with toronto being one of them. if he had done this when the original was first released it would have been cool, but now z103 is even butchering this track to death.
