Is this Airline Service any good!!

Hiya to all the UKTAs i really need your advice, i want to make a flight acrosss the UK Manchester to Norwich to be exact and seen this website NOW i have never booked anything off the internet and a bit scared of being scammed.

My choice of airline is www.flybe.com and was wondering if anybody has used this airline before or got any advice on what to do.

Ive checked other methods of transport and a flight seems to be the cheaper and faster method of getting there and back.

expect basic but satisfactory stuff. A lot of these airlines use older planes from other airlines, so it might not be comfortable, but for a journey of what, 40-50 minutes? it shouldn't matter too much.

comfort doesnt really matter to me one bit for such a short trip but thank you for the post.. just scared of getting scammed really..

you won't get scammed, Fly Be are a huge airline. Just remember you will often need to add on taxes etc. to the price they quote. And just read the small print abd you'll be fine

I've flown Flybe to Guernsey before at the end of July. They were fine. Simple, fairly old aircraft, but comfortable and pleasant enough. Inflight food costs alot though!

I did flybe from Leeds Bradford to Amsterdam last year, can't complain considering it only cost a �60 return. It can't be that bad either, as Adam Sheridan was on the same flight

I flew FlyBe from Portsmouth to Cherbourg.

I don't really like flying and shat myself when walking across the runway to board the plane when I realised that it had PROPELLERS!!

If you don't mind a prehistoric plane they're fine.

Flybe are alright. They are classified as a low cost carrier (no business class, food needs to be paid for etc) but they are a step above Ryanair.

My parents and brother fly with them pretty regularly out of Southampton to Jersey and elsewhere and have never had any problems.

Aircraft manufacturers across the world still build propellor passenger aircraft and it has only been in the last 10yrs or so that jets on regional aircraft has become standard practice.

Judging a plane's age based on props/jets is like saying trains are ancient because they run on diesel. If their aircraft were unreliable. As it happens flybe's Dash 8s (the prop aircraft they fly) are on average 2yrs old and the average age of aircraft in their fleet is just over 8yrs old. Hardly geriatric! Northwest Airlines have many DC9 aircraft that have been in service for more than 30yrs. An aircraft that is well maintained and looked after is far more important than the age.

PS. No commercial airport at Portsmouth.

I looked up the specific details of the fleet ages using Google. I knew enough to be able to say they weren't prehistoric, just needed proof
