Yea im not really gettin this....I noticed that for some reason japan is gettin a lot of stuff first and foremost. Take for example the ferry album u mentioned....plus the rank 1 dvd are being released in japan first. Since when did japan become the trance capital of the world? Since ayumi??? lol
the rank 1 album that will be released in japan doesn't come with a dvd. the euro release however, will have the trance energy dvd on it.
btw lets not forget johan gielen used to have residency at the velfarre which is a big club in japan from 1995-1997. so i'm pretty sure they have been exposed to a great deal of trance music in one form or another.
all i want to know is if anyone got "the very best of ferry corsten album???" if anyone has it rip it!!!!
word! im japanese.. but im not from there so i have no clue how the trance scene is..
japan is a country of music for sure...HUGE recordings done over there
theyre music scenes are all good in keeping the underground strong and alive...proven in the hip hop field...and lately the boomin electronic music scene.
I wonder if Yoji Biomechanika and Kenji Ogura are japanese or european artists with japanese names..
Last I heard that the Japanese don't favor trance at all. (This was a year ago)
They only liked Techno and Jungle, but I guess things change and I hope to see the Japanese gettin' into trance b/c they don't know what they are missing

If you are only basing your suspicion on these Ferry Corsten mixes released there, then I don't think it's a big deal yet.
But if trance really gets big in Jappan, that doesn't sound like very good news. Japan is the land of cheese- Japanese pop is huge, and I hate the sound of it.

| Originally posted by infinity Yes they are Japanese.. Yoji runs his own label Hellhouse as well.. and is a totally wacky dude... and Kenji Ogura is signed onto Tracid Traxx... often produces with Melanie de Tria... both damn great guys.. other japanese producers i can think of who play within Europe and the US... Ken Ishii, Satoshi Tomiie, Denki Groove, Towa Tei, Captain Funk, Hirata Tomo, Seiji Funaka... but they're all usually superbly talented.. |
and they got PS2 first as well... and the WRX STi and the Lan EVO and the Skyline GT-R... fuckina theyre lucky!

Japanese babes are cute.
i lived in japan for two years during high school on a military base near Hiroshima and i would go to the bars/clubs there and the closest they got to electronic music was stuff by AQUA! hahahah and they LOVED the oldies like "stayin alive"...that's awesome that the trance scene is blowing up over there....awesome country..can't wait to go back some day
