How to Eq a Pad???

Hi Guys,
I want to know how do you do to make a power pad and Lead (like Ace da Brain or Rank 1) and what freq do you set..

you EQ it so that it fills what you need to fill in the mix...simple as that...

there's no general rule...depends on the mix and the kind of sound etc etc...

I normally give a little boost around 250hz (on the climax), Boost around 1000-4000hz , 9500hz...normally...

so boosting everytime on same frequencies become irrelevant...unless the pad/lead is the only instrument in your whole composition.

ok, but not ever the pad is so "full" and "power" how i want...

I almost never use the EQ to make something powerfull - and especially not if it's a pad.
In my opinion, it's a much better approach to find the nice sounds to begin with, i.e. tweaking your synth or using other samples.
And THEN I'll use the EQ very light to either bring out some frequencies in the pad I want to have clearer in the mix or to balance the pad with the other instruments. It's always different frequencies, but there seems to be a tendency to hp at 150, cut a little bit around the vocal area, and boost a little bit in high mids or high frequencies.

Btw: I guess you know it, but in case you don't: The kind of pad you're describing in the original post is likely the "supersaw" pad. You'll find 1000+ posts about this and how to create it, eq it, etc. if you search the forum.
