Was there ever a reason...

... for Pioneer to not include the three built-in effects: jet, zip, and wah, onto the higher end cdjs?

The cdj 100s has them, and the cdj 200, but they don't have them on the higher end 800's and 1000's. Has there ever been a reason as to why Pioneer didn't decide to provide them for the more expensive models?

i dont think there has been any specific reason revealed by pioneer...perhaps to compete with the entry-mid level market. example: numark axis 9s and stanton 314's have built in effects so it could be a competition strategy. also, the cdj-200's are NEW so it could be part of a shift on pioneer's part but we'll see what we'll get in the mk2s,mk3s,mk4s,mk5s etc in the future of cdj's. and just for the record, the effects on the cdj200s are top notch...i use them over ableton effects sometimes...but until i get my djm 800 (or the xone 3d when i can afford lol) im happy with those built in effects.

Exactly what I was about to say, the effects on the 200 don't seem childish to me, they seem reaaaalllly good. I can't vouch for how they are on the 100s', but on the 200 they're legitimate effects which work well.

Overall you'd think that could be a reason, to compete with other entry level cdjs, but really the name Pioneer is suitable enough. That reason doesn't seem good enough to explain why they're entirely absent from the higher-end cdjs. A cdj 1000 mk3 with the built-in effects of the 200 would be leet. I use the jet and wah effects every now and then (enough to make me somewhat miss them if I got a 1000 and no longer had them). The zip effect is probably good for something, I just have no idea what. But the jet and wah effects sound amazing on the 200 and I can't emulate them with the effects on my mixer.

Methinks it was a marketing ploy to help bolster sales for the EFX 1000

It's because now they can update the higher end models with "new" features once a year so you'll have to keep getting the same player over and over again if you want them.

I think maybe is that

I also love the effects on my CDJ-200
and when I play live there is always a 1000, I wish the 1000 had the same efects.

or myabe it could be the platter on the CDJ-800 and CDJ-1000, it's too big and Ithink mayeb that would feel weird when manipulating the fects from that big platter.

I think its because the cdj 800 and 1000 are ment to be workhorses. Keeping it simple means less can go wrong. These are made to be used and abused in clubs and by many strange people. Then again the marketing sceme with the efx1000 comes into play aswell.
