A man would have to divide his own height by 1.09, and a woman multiply hers by the same figure, to find the ideal, according to the professor's theory. However, exceptions to the rule immediately spring to mind. Rod Stewart and girlfriend Penny Lancaster, for instance. Stewart's official height of 5ft 11in appears not only extremely optimistic but incompatible with the statuesque 6ft 1in frame of Miss Lancaster, giving them a far from ideal ratio of 0.97:1. Anyone applying the theory to 5ft 11in Nicole Kidman and 5ft 7in Tom Cruise, meanwhile, would have been able to predict that their love was doomed. Their height ratio is 0.94:1. After their divorce Miss Kidman quipped: 'At least I can wear high heels again.' Professor Pawlowski, of the University of Wroclaw, said: 'Females prefer taller men. Taller men have higher social status, earn more and are at lower risk from illness. 'They also have better reproductive success, as do shorter women - so a male will look for a smaller female.' In his study, 600 men and women aged 19-50 were shown outlines of couples of varying heights and asked to say which best represented the ideal. A majority plumped for those with the height ratio of 1.09:1. The findings suggest that David Beckham, at 6ft, and his 5ft 7in wife Victoria are an almost perfect match. But what about exceptionally tall or short people who tend to find partners much shorter or much taller than themselves? According to the professor, this is down to the unconscious knowledge that they could produce abnormally tall or short children if they married someone of a similar stature.

If short men could never get laid with women, they would have disappeared from the gene pool by now. Don't you think so?

And from personal experience, some of the guys I've known who were the most amazingly successful with women (fucked about a hundred girls by age 21) were 5'5 and 5'6.

1.09:1 my ass. People rarely get the chance to come across someone with "ideal" ratio to their height. These numbers amount to nothing.

that is correct, however that's more than can be said of many other guys including the taller ones.

It is true though. You have two shy guys one is tall the other is short. A girl would always pick the tall guy. And the girl no matter what would always do what the tall guy wanted.

The tall guy doesn't have to do much to get a date compare to a short guy.

Thing is... girls like tall guys because they like being the submissive, and it works alot easier when the guy is bigger than you are, the girl truely feels helpless against him.

Wrong.

If I was given the option to choose between a guy who is 5'6" vs. 6'1" I would be more inclined to choose 5'6" based on height alone.

However, if you mean would a woman choose a man shorter than her, vs. one taller than her, then I would agree, it is more likely that the woman would choose the taller guy.

but in reality, it's not so much about feeling "helpless" against him......but protection and security. It's never a secure feeling when we know we have to be the one's to do a throat punch on someone if we get mobbed

This is common sense. No sh*t guys want a woman who is shorter but not THAT short.
