Advice sought for trip to Miami...must see PVD! :)
Hi guys,
Looking for some friendly advice from the FLTA's about an upcoming trip down to Miami. Unfortunately your events thread isn't as nicely organized as ours in Toronto! (hehe) so I need your advice about when is best to come down and what's going on. I've seen pretty much every DJ I've wanted this year except for PVD (since he hardly comes to Toronto) so was planning on flying down for the Thanksgiving weekend (from Thursday, Nov 23-26).
I'm debating about whether I should come down for that weekend or end of Oct (to either Miami or Orlando) as there are quite a few good parties then too.
Anyone else know what's going on the thanksgiving weekend besides PVD @ Space. I've definitely choose him over Erick Morillo that night even though I want to check out Mansion at some point too but not if it's hiphop. I want to go out every night I'm there and only like house/trance clubs. Are there any afterhours clubs too?
Oh, and is it too cold for the beach around that time?

it may be too cold for the beach, but only for us. for a notherner like you you'll love it! you might see people walking around in sweaters and jackets but you'll be shorts and a tshirt. i can guanrentee that.
i would recommend coming to miami over orlando. orlando is nice but its too family oriented and the clubs only stay open until 3am i believe. miami is a party all morning kind of town.
pvd should be good. hes kinda hit or miss in miami. he blew miami away in august and november 05 but sucked ass in jan and march 06. i heard he was good in june 06 though. so hopefully he'll be good in nov too. there should be some other decent parties to hit up too during that time, but i havent heard of much yet.
IMO it looks like the end of November is better. The end of October you have Ferry Corsten who is great, but not much else going on. I heard a rumor that Danny Tenaglia will be @ Twilo on Friday 11/24. If you like house, that is a can't miss event. There will also be many afterhours events to chose from in Downtown, Space on Saturday and Nocturnal on Friday are the main ones. You have to go see PVD @ Space at least once. Despite some shaky sets early in the year, when PVD brings it @ Space it's quite an experience. That club is tailor-made for epic trance sets (sound and lighting setup are top notch), and a crowd that appreciates and expects cutting edge sets. And Deep Dish may be playing the terrace that night as well for the afterhours, which could well go into Sunday afternoon.

Mansion is good Sundays.. I dunno what days u are coming for but it's also great on Wednesday just open format. You get a lil bit of everything.

Yayy...yeh I did some research last nite and Danny T is going to be @ Twilo on Friday!!! This kills any plans for Orlando any day! I haven't heard anything about Deep Dish ....is this confirmed @ all. So now the question is where to stay? Last time I stayed right @ SoBe but since most of these clubs are downtown do you guys know the cab fare from downtown to SoBe?
Also, what time do clubs usually close? Also, afterhours clubs? What's the deal there....are they sketchy like Comfort Zone here?! LOL
So excited!!! Definitely would love to meet up with some of you guys!

And they're famous for the afterhours shabang.
I never stepped foot into the Comfort Zone when I went to T.O cuz all the TOTA's that know me.. know I wouldn't like it. So I avoided it hehe
But nah I don't think it's half as bad as CZ
