love ur stuff man.
always bang'n. think the swoosh used is a little cheesy.
awsome stuff though, percussions always spot on.
dunno why ur not gett'n signed to be honest, u just gotta find that one label who fits ur style perfectly.
pm if ur interested, i might be able to point u in a direction.
cheers

thanks for feedback.. actually, when u say it, the swoosh actually are a bit cheesy lol, never thought about that.

would be cool with some label help, but ive decided im not gonna send demoes before im 100% content with what i make, which i was with this track, but no replies, and i even got feedback from L-Vee himself, about things i should change etc. and yeah he was right, but then again, i never go back into a track and change stuff after i have rendered and maximised it.. i take the feedback on to the next track.

listening...

nice deep kick, nice percussion loops, only thing is that thye sound a bit low-fi and the kick is clipping a bit. The swoosh is cheeze idem. I like the rought bassline, it lacks a bit of final touch in sound quality/mix down though, can't lay my hand on it but the sound quality of the samples sounds a bit low-fi. The strings used sound dated. Break now, the sounds and melodies used sound dated as well, and a bit fruity or something. I can imagine why this wont get signed, especially in the break and after it it deffo lacks professional quality in the sounds and melodies. Also the structure of the track misses tension and a real climax moment. I think you got the basis covered, with nice percs and beat but the synths sound dated (apart from the acid things)

Very nice work Subtle. Very atmospheric with a good variety of things going on. I like the melody. Its catchy and the use of the sample around 6:40 is well done. Sorry you didn't hear back from any labels man I know from personal experience how frustrating that can be. Just keep on doing what your doing and eventually it will happen.

thanks for your honest feedback, Stino..

thanks, Magnus, gla u liked it

Hey I'm surprised no one was interested in this. I really like it, its got a kind of retro feel - not dated - but retro mixed with the modern vibes. Maybe the strings are the only part which lets it down.

I certainly wouldn't say this was not professional, because it IS excellent quality. Too long though, I prefer tunes no longer than 7.30, 8 at the max.

thank you Pete_B, Im a sucker for long tunes.. my tracks always spans around 9-11 minutes, i dont know, they just end up that way

That's why the track is so good. I hate all of the plastic sounds that come from the new generation of producers nowadays.. Raw simplicity is the essence of EDM and this track captures that idea perfectly.

I started a remix the same night you posted the remix pack, Subtle, but I haven't had the time to focus on it properly. I hope to get it finished some time in the future

thats the biggest nonsense i have read in some time here on TA, but anyways, i dont want to start a flame war in his thread. I gues my view on quality differs then...

he has got a point, older tracks were much simpler than today, but at the whole they sounded much better, alot of todays tracks are too complicated for their own good. you dont have to agree, but saying its nonsense is a bit too fast.

Let me illustrate my point with a video from last saturday night:

Driving and atmospheric, nice bass. I like the melody. A good job!

Takere!

Nice kick youve got there Subtle!, very nice bongo groove

the track breathes out a spacy atmosphere, I like the dirty low tunes!

very nice strings, though I don't like the acid running through, it's a cool idea, but just not my cup of tea

very fresh break & breakdown it's so good to hear trance evolve!

haha that vocal = sweet!! sounds really 90's and yet so retro

I wish you good luck with this baby!!

Posted by Subtle on Oct-03-2006 02:39:

nice video Tor, thanks you Akia, and Takkra.. luckily that acid is not so dominant in the mix though

Cool, I was wondering why you hadn't posted this before.
My favorite part of this track is the percs and the thumping bass. The dark, almost goa-like melodies are cool too.
I had a great time remixing it.
