okay...so this is a rumor i heard from a friend of mine yesterday....

he said, that they (dunno who they are) are probably going to get rid of that gayass 21+ only beach law they have, and that the majority of clubs will all go back to 18+

now to me this seems sort of UNBELIEVABLE, so thats why i'm calling it a rumor...can anyone confirm or dismiss the idea....i wish it so, but i'm not getting my hopes up

part of the reason they have the 21+ rule is to keep out the "undesirables"..... you know, the kids that are too young to keep their cool in the clubs. The 21+ crowd bring the money anyway, b/c of buying drinks.

I think it would be great for some of you under 21 guys to get in, but in all, i don't like the change.... once you get to our age you'll understand

I couldn't agree with ABT more. And we aren't trying to sound like dicks either, there are just too many bad points that would go along with it. In all honesty, I wouldn't want to be out at a club on a Saturday night with a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds. And South Beach club owners sure don't want that either. They want to make money and draw an elite crowd and their stuck-up, older, rich clientele surely would not tolerate 18 and 19 year old kids running around the same club that they're in. Again, don't take this the wrong way. There is a time and a place for everything. When I was 18 I wouldn't have even wanted to hang out at a club with people in their mid to late 20's, so why rush it?

i agree with you guys...totally....its just a bitch that i can't listen to music...lol...i couldn't care less about the club or the people...i'm there for the music

and yeah, i understand the whole "undesirables" thing....it would ruin a lot of the atmosphere and all, it just sucks that we're sterotyped by age....i wish i could kick every imature persons ass, but i can't :/

This is how I feel:

I rather have 12, 14 year old there who is there for the music and knows how to handle his/her shit, then a 21+ old people just there to get drunk and don't know anything about the music are just starting trouble.

So in other words, age doesn't bother me because in a lot of cases the 14, 16 year olds know what's going on more then the older peeps

I dont know, just making thoughts here, but Im 17, and me specially, Im very mature about clubbing etc, dont like drugs nor drinking, soooo ...... I can get on your position, and you guys get on our position, ABT, what if you were 17 - 18 , and Mauro picotto and Johan Gielen comes to SPIN and you cant go.. what would you think ?!?! hehehe TRICKY question.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. The difference in the level of maturity between an 18 year old and a 21 year old is considerable. When I was 18 I would have really gone off on anyone saying what I just did in that last sentence, which is exactly what you would expect. That's why those clubs are 21+ (besides all of the liquor license hassles, etc.)

It'll be well worth the wait, I promise you!
