Most impacting transition?

Alrighty its been discussed about the best transition between two tracks, but after listening to the whole of CD2 from Resaissance: Desire up really loud on the weekend, i have to say that the change between Praha presents Xian - Pachinko and Way out West - Mindcircus is mindblowing. I dunno if anyone else feels the same but when the piano from Mindcircus washes over all of the closed hats and rhythms from Pachinko its just bliss.

Anybody else know of any awesome change overs?

Hmmm....still no replies - i think that one requires some research.

back in the day when oakey used to hammer out some awsome trance he used to do some perfect mixes tiesto is a very good mixer too!

Posted by Great Outdoors on Mar-15-2002 18:51:

Darn.. I just set up the same thread a few hours ago.
Anyway, Tiesto's transition from Southern Sun to the next one (can't recall offhand) gave me an orgasm. It was PERFECT.
Let's keep this one to live mixes, yeah? And EMs. No CDs please; unless it's done live.

Posted by Pointy on Mar-16-2002 00:24:

Nah man CD's also, cos even though they might not be live, they can have an impact too

Posted by Mark on Mar-16-2002 02:18:

from all the livesets, CD's and other mixes i have heard in the last few years, there have been many many great transitions. the one that sticks in my mind so far this year has been

Beauty of Silence (Pump Mix) --> backspin --> Nu-NRG - Dreamland

this was pulled off by johan gielen at trance energy.
i love backspins. they always get me psyched

transtion by tiesto between the first, "hooligan - hear you now (grandchillas mix)" and the next track on his essential mix 9-9-2001. stunning!!!

Posted by Special_K on Mar-16-2002 06:33:

OHOHOHOH. I know.

CD: John'00'Fleming "For your ears only"

Transition: "Astral projection - Flying into a star" mixed into "Nuw Idol - Kick Drum Domination"

Oh god i could listen to that transition 100 times, just makes me want to go off.

Another good one
Set: John'00'Fleming Essential mix 2000

Transition: "The Mexican - Shadow Stalker" mixed into "Adelphoi - A Better Tomorrow"

Thats one of the smoothest mixes i have ever heard

Look em up there worth the listen.

Posted by Great Outdoors on Mar-16-2002 14:10:

We've talked about the smoothest transition, what about the longest? Anyone has any idea? I've a feeling Sasha and PvD will get a lot of nominations here.

Posted by Pointy on Mar-16-2002 23:18:

Longest eh?.. I doubt PVD would get that, but Sasha, Diggers, Dave Seaman or Warren would be up there. Actually, when i think about it, Jeff Mills does some feckin long mixes (like 2 minutes) without even making touch ups on the records, just beat matches like that! Carl Cox could be up there as well.

well if were talking cds, AND sasha...he played Life Line and Heaven Scent at the same time on Ibiza GU - thats just crazy...

another classic is magik 6 Silence to Viola - thats a fucking a bomb

sander has some hard core mixes, unfortunately i only have his nubreed cd...the whole thing is seamless, just no live shiats to speak of/

pvd mayday 2001 ... happiness (soem weird pvd mix that i want but he's not gonna release) ----> flight 643.. hehe i love that part when he mixes it in.

pvd - EM @ Home (4/23/00)
the 2nd track (i forget what it is) into En Motion - Truth (Pulser Mix)
just cuz you know when that new BASSLINE is gonna kick in, and its massive! .... and then of course the transition from
En Motion - Truth (Pulser Mix) into DJ Remy - Pumped Up
which isn't toooo easy cuz the beat structure in Pumped Up is a lil' weird, if u have the vinyl...

if you're talking stuff we've done ourselves.. (like my thread a long while ago)
can some1 top my sonorous - glass garden => riva - stringer? it aint half bad
got sommo' for ya. but dunno if they'll ever be displayed cuz they're w/ pretty old tracks.

Posted by SmellsExcellent on Mar-17-2002 08:41:

carl cox did some sweetass mixing tonight.. great set IMO.. got the who place bumpin.. for all who know the quest, its a smaller place and we were pack in there hardcore.!

PvD mixed mauro picotto - pegasus into en motion - truth...

his transition from dj remy - pumped up into john rees vs. helios - beta blocker is really good, but his best one was olmec heads - magic man into antarctica - adrift...

Posted by patticus on Mar-17-2002 10:52:

uh, i dont remember any olmec heads track on that EM

Posted by AndiH on Mar-17-2002 10:56:

i was talking about pvd at homelands 2000...sorry for the confusion

I have to say that I actually love the transition from En Motion - Truth ----> DJ Remy - Pumped up. When the bass line of Pumped Up cuts in you know that you are gonna go nuts. I love that bass line!! Its so bangin!

Then my other fav transition is also in this mix. Lets just say that this mix has it all.
Its from John Rees vs Helios - Beta Blocker ----> VDM - Deflection EP. Doesn't come much harder or much more bangin than this! This is just psyco!

Paul Van Dyk is a master!!

Hmm old thread One of my fav transitions is from Eddie Halliwell's EM from:

VPL - T-Break (Steve Murano Mix)

into

TNT - First Match (Technoboy Remix)

I dunno why I love it so much, but I just remember listening live at the time and thinkin fuck me I wish I could throw tracks in as agressively as that and keep it sounding so tight. Plus some scratching straight after the transition makes it even better

Sample Included - Right Click Save As

Posted by Sean Walsh on Jan-27-2004 03:20:

Yeah, an absolutely perfect hardtrance/hardhouse mix.

Colour me fucking impressed.

Posted by beema on Jan-27-2004 04:25:

from the Gabriel & Dresden EM: the mix between Andain - Make Me and Andain - Beautiful Things...Dave (I think) gradually pitches down the first song to half speed and then mixes in Beautiful Things so it syncs up every four beats...or something to that effect
I was like "Holy SHIT!"
I expect something like that from a Turntablist perhaps, but not a prog/trance DJ

Posted by Zombie0729 on Jan-27-2004 04:59:

Oakenfold Live @ Creamfields '99

transition:

Mekka - Diamondback into Goldenscan - Sunrise

oooooooh
