my favorite event there was my first: Summer's End 2001...split my time between the Kool Haus (DJ Sneak, Kenny Glasgow, Dave Clarke) and the Orange Room (Jelo, Paul Walker and Deko-ze) that night. went with my sister and my cousin from Rotterdam and his girlfriend.

for me probably the most subtle best part of that place is the guy, who works at the front store thingy who sells the popcorn....he has always struck me as one of the coolest nicest, people i have never come to meet...

..he for me is guv. really cool people, most of which you dont know, all there to just have a good time and enjoy the experiance.

Happy 10th birthday.

holy crap what a line up!

my fav time was at guv 9. I got my breaks and my techno.
Prodigy played at the koolhaus [not ideal, but better than nothing]

Hi name is Morgan, great guy, and known for his ever changing hairdos. He's been there for years and taking a long break from the scene.

wow.. I can remember my first time stepping foot into guv... never knowing anything about it... always hearing about it.. hearing the negative things that apparently existed...and the "I hate that place" attitudes, or "oh no dont go there" statements from ppl...but.. (and there is always that but)..

truthfuly one day.. i said fuk the haters.. and I walked into this fantastic place... an environment filled with diverse people... dancing.. drinking.. having a good time... all I hear is laughter on the dancefloor... and the most importance of it all...the MUSIC... and the djs who play that music every weekend (residents like Joe and Fab, Mark Oliver, George Williams, Dekoze, and Sydney Blu, and more...)... little would I know since my first venture into the drink (the skybar if it was nice out.. for those awesome sunrise sets ie. Mr. Lawler which I will never fkn forget<3)... would the guvernment plague begin... lol..no no jokes..(but its true) lol... it began with the drink.. slowly moving into the main room... then the dirtiest room of em all.. the GALLERY... one of my fave rooms in the guv if you enjoy your house beats... and for large trance events or concerts... the Koolhaus would actually be opened.. lol (where ive got to see prodigy, disturbed, gnarls barkley, and more)...

so what I recal for the last few years of partying at guv.. would be the 9 year anniversary... which was phenomenal... new years @ guv, every single weekend after that.. lol... above & beyond (my fave)... ,decadence (with sander, armin, oakie, howells, josh gabriel.. lee...etc)... labour of love this year with ferry and diggers... so many events... within the last few years.. oh yeah.. and cant forget Freedom (Deep Dish until 10 am... sober and still going even when my feet were killing)... and not to 4get the best parties of them all Ultraspins 8,9 (where I finally got to see Junkie XL, Blank and Jones, and Mauro P after years of missing out)us10 (Guy Ornadel) & us11... where last week Nathan Barato, and Markus both blew me away... :P... (and hopefully tonight... 10 year will be even better.. with Kenneth Thomas, Sander Van Doorn, Paul Oakenfold, and more...(mentioning ive seen most of the djs I still cant wait to begin the night, and see who i haven't seen)..

What would I do without guv now?? well.. its tough to say... its been a part of my life in many ways... ive made tonnes of friends there.. its nutty.. but its the truth... many great ppl... and we are all brought together bc of our love for music & the dancing... so for guv to still be here after 10 years... is insane.. its a reality... something magical for charles to be proud of... as I would think is a landmark in Toronto for many people.. not to mention people who come every week from out of town like Detriot, and Buffalo just for guvernment.. is unbelievable.. so not only is it a guvernment anniversary... but a celebration to say thank you to charles for giving us the guvernment for the last 10 years..<3... to thank him for our home away from home... if you wanna call it that..

now that ive wrote this much... lol... im only gonna say one last thing... since ive been home the last two nights.. and tonight is my night out... I will Party Like ive never partied before.. its the 10 year anniversary party 2nite.. and I hope to see each every one of you out... ahah... yes we all know guv is a big place but there is a TA meet up at 12:30 I believe.. see you all there!!! cant wait to party with you all!! *mwauh*

Much Luv, 2famous4u aka Kat

my best memory of the guvvy was when my buddy jarvis did a glowstick show for about 100 chinese ravers up on the stage back in 2000.

he made all 12 people in the first row puke all over themselves almost simultaneously.

good times

He was only supposed to spin for 3 or 4 hours, and then Mark Oliver kept coming up to the decks, ready to come on and Ferry kept shaking his head...he was having too much fun and ended up spinning until 8:30 in the morning.

I can't even explain how amazing that night was.

Those parties were AMAZING. Esp the first ones you mentioned...fuck man...the start of my partying in the scene and wow was it ever a sick ass start. I still remember in 02 after when Armin came 3 times that summer, met a lot of the (original) TAs at the time in Guv, it was just madness. The first labour of love was just insane, Guv main room was total chaos as well, to this day I've never seen a party that rammed @ Guv.

Happy B Day Guv.

THAT was an amazing party, went there with Emery and a few friends. Saw the DMC Competition in Koolhaus before (with Dopey obviously kicking ass)then got sloshed in the Drink. Picotto was on fire that night.
