Joseph Christian's & Aaron J.'s Bios
Joseph Christian
Joseph is one of New Mexico's Leading tastemakers. Having moved to Albuquerque in 2003, it has taken him a mere 3 years to be at the forefront the EDM scene. having opened for the likes of Luke Fair, J. Scott G., Hernan Cattaneo, James Lavelle, Steve Porter, Carl Cox and many many other top flight Dj's from around the globe. Joseph carries his own signature sound to blend with the enthusiasm of the crowd he is working with. from the dirtiest of electro beats, the plodding thump of house to the hard hitting techno and progressive, joseph has a sound the transends all genres as labels. he is a true master of his craft.
Joseph is currently working with release records, Digital Vinyl Recordings, Blue Line, Floor! Management and The Unison Media Group. joseph hods two residencies at The Coliseum nightclub and olive, as well as playing at all of the high end events in New Mexico, Dallas and El Paso.
Joseph got his start in electronic music in the early 90s. He was first exposed to techno while living in Dallas, TX. There he heard the infamous Jeff K, and his show Edge club 94. From there he went to some the early Raves of the Dallas scene. Hosted by the likes of the Hazy Daze Collectiff , and parties done by Hoo-Man under the guise of Evolution Productions. After buying his first set of decks, he was taken in by the Richard Bartlett and Mousy of the legendary club Arcadia. There he learned the art of mixing.
Soon Joseph was playing at clubs like the DMZ, and SOA. As well as raves. At the time he went under the names; Love Child, Swank, Rise and DJ Sirius. It wasnt until 1996, that he began to really grow into his own. He moved to central Texas, and began throwing events in the sleepy town of College Station, home to Texas A&M. In the beginning it was hard he says, I was always told that that kind of music could not work there. They were wrong. After years of honing his skills with the like of DJs like Ron-E, Solskei and Trey Cruz. Joseph had the right stuff to pull off one of the best nights in clubbing that town ever saw. He started the Future Music Movement (FM2) with Trey, and laid waste to what that thought a club scene was. The year was 1999
Fast forward to 2001, electronic music is feeling the backlash of the over commercial aspect of the scene. People are leaving the clubs in droves. Raves are being thwarted by the government. All seems lost. While most DJs were selling there record collections and gear, Joseph was re-inventing himself. Gone were the rave days of DJ Sirius, he had now grown into himself as Joseph Christian.
In 2003 Joseph moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Once again he was faced with starting over again. 11 years had past since he began his love affair with music. He had watched scenes be born, and die. Genres rise to popularity, and disappear into obscurity. Not knowing a single soul, he ventured into the newly opened Revolutions Records. There he befriended Timm Reynolds aka The Rev. Mitton. Soon after he was spinning out on Burque. Getting to know the local jocks, spinning gigs. He soon met Steven Jacobs aka Steve Oh! The two found they had a passion for Progressive House, and became inseparable DJ partners. The Birth of the Awaken Dreaming Project. The two through a party together called Ambient Camping in Northern New Mexico. And of course the two began spinning on the original DesertFM.
Joseph is the owner and founder of DesertFM Radio. He is working with many individuals to bring the site up to it's full potential. The future is only a mouse click away.....
Aaron J
(Unison Media, Universal Beat Embassy, The Svengali Project)
Aaron began his voyage in the world of dance music in the late 80s with his interest in Acid House, New Beat, and guidance from his mentor Paul Crawford. In 1993, Aaron relocated to New Mexico from North Texas and began playing Old School Techno music at a club called Babylon. During this time he played guest sets at several parties opening for the likes of Jon Bishop and Ron D. Core.
Later in 1993, Aaron moved back to North Texas to intern at a New Age recording studio. Universal Beat Embassy was born as a New Age project. After spending two years in Texas the New Age scene grew tired and Aaron longed to return to his dance music roots. Aaron returned to New Mexico in 1995 to see many things had changed in the scene in two years. With encouragement from old friend J. Scott G.; Aaron changed the direction of UBE to dance music with the first dance track being produced by Scott. He also began playing records again in many nightclubs again including the Zone, Daqz, D-Nile, and Zippers in Albuquerque and club/party guest sets in Denver, Tucson, Florence IT (on vacation), and Phoenix.
After a 6 year hiatus Aaron has once again heard the calling. Universal Beat Embassy has begun writing music again and starting to play live engagements and Aaron J. as a DJ is starting over. The former egomaniac has realized finally what it is all about Its all about unity, togetherness, and sharing what has become an important part of our lives. The way he sees it now is it has only just begun
