NERO users...i need HELP
OK for some reason my NERO is acting up when i try to cut my large MP3s into tracks..
My problem is this:
I DO NOT have problems with Burning at all....my problem is i am trying to cut my live sets like i always do with NERO but NERO stops responding
so i load them into NERO and then right click on the MP3 and click
"properties"...i then click "indexes, limits and splits" and let the MP3 load in...then i click "split" as many times as i need tracks for the long MP3 before i burn it...
My problem is this..when i am done tracking the MP3 i click "OK" and then
NERO asks "are you sure you want o split this MP3 into 7 tracks" and i click
"yes"...then NERO just loads and loads and then just stops responding..
i then click "contol-alt-delete" and it says NERO
(not responding).....
so basically i am unable to split these MP3s...because NERO just keeps loading then stops responding....
I have unistalled and reinstalled 10 times, did a scan disk, did a disk defrag, checked my memory and rebooted several times and the problem still exists, i have also downloaded 3 newer versions on NERO and nothing works...i am not quite sure why....
BUT the weird thing i notice is that if i wanna take a live set thats on a CD already thats NOT broken into tracks yet...then i go ahead and try and split it up...well it works...so basically it ONLY stops responding on LARGE MP3..cue i also tryed cutting up a single MP3 and that worked aswell....so i dont know if this is a memory issue or what...cus it works if i wanna cut up from an already burned CD or cut up a single but when i go ahead and try and cut up a 70 minute live set it just stops responding...does this make sense????
anyone who uses NERO lemme know...maybe you could try loading a live set in your NERO and see what happens...i dont know...this just started last week...and i have not figured it out...

Here's what I do when I really want a mix on CD-DA split:
Make CUE sheets!
Here's how I do it:
1. Use Cool Edit 2000 to get my mix down to less than 81 minutes to fit the CD.
2. Switch the Cool Edit time display to show in Hour:Minute:Second:FRAME format. CD-frame is 1/75th of aa second.
3. Now that everything's set, put the cursor on the part of the mp3 that you want to put the start of track 2 (the timer should show that time, like 00:07:34.12.
4. Put that time into your CUE file that you are making.
I know that this might seem hard to do but, I RARELY make CD-DA's from live mixes as their too long to fiit on 1 CD, anyway. I just make MP3-CDs and put'em in an MP3 CD player. Or I use my MDLP minidisc recorder to put one set that's less than 150 minutes on the MD in LP2 format.
My guess is that nero cant handle such big files, and maybe when you load up the file cutter you should leave it a few mins to load in, then start cutting. But i would advise getting the latest version, the xp version

Well the problem is that the whole mp3 has to load up, and this will happen with any cutting program. It has to load it all, and 100mb takes a while to load, unless your comp is fast. So this maybe the problem. Just give it a few mins then start trying to work with it.
What's you CPU speed?
I thought my computer would freeze up too. Before I realized that it takes a bit for my computer to create each track. I only have a 366 PII so it takes about 2-5 mins for the sets to be cut up.
If you have a faster CPU and it still takes some time for it to split then it's because Nero will not cut up an mp3 over 120 or 140 mins (I forgot which one). Minaly the time split is over the allowed time for an mp3.
I had the same problem before. Just give it a few mins. Nero sucks ass at burning mp3 sets, since you have to split each track up. But it's still the best burning program around.
Good Luck

i have the same processor as you do...but the thing is..after i say OK split the MP3s in "X" amount of tracks it just load and loads then just stops responding..and the sets are only like 70 minutes or so...should i wait for the green wave thing above to finish loading then click ok....i never had this problem before with NERO..so i dunno
I have a question with Nero....hehehe...sorry for taking your turf...
How do you get rid of the 2 sec delay between songs? It's ANNOYING!!
THANK YOU!
load the MP3..right click on it and click preferences...then u will see in the new window where to change it to "0"...

Ok, well...I pretty much do the same thing...I just did that for my Hybrid set. Of course, before I split up a set...I make sure to change it to a wave. So basically, what I do is this:
1. Convert chosen set from mp3 to wave (I don't use Nero for this tho)
2. Load up the wave in Nero, right click, properties, etc etc.
3. Listen to the set if I need to make my own indexes, or just make a bunch of them and edit them if I have a cue sheet.
4. Hit ok after everything is indexed/split.
5. Change time intervals to 0 seconds in properties.
6. Open burning options window, make sure disc-at-once is checked.
7. Start burning.
When I try converting a large mp3 into a wave, Nero freezes up on me, so I use MP3->Wav converter...its a very good program, just right-click on mp3 and select convert to wav from the menu.

if i did convert the MP3s to WAVs and tryed tracking them wouldnt that take longer to load since a WAV file is a lot larger then a MP3 file....cus i think it stops responding because it takes way too long to load...anyone?
Ok, have you tried cooledit? If the same happens on that you know it is too much for your comp to take, also try acid to split up tracks. But i had the same prob until i got my new comp, and now it is fine. It is just too much for it too take. But we split up my mates set fine, so it can be done. If you have the latest version and still have the same prob it is obviously your comp. What Operating System you running?

Well it is worth a try, i thought nero would load it as an mp3, and then convert it to wav when you burn, but it may convert it to wav when yuo drag the file into the burning box. So you may as well try it, it wont tkae that long, and you can use nero to convert it to wav, with its encoder.
Ithink that the pentium should b able to cope, but processors do slow down, and this maybe why it has only just started happening.
Anyway i would try converting it to wav and trying. Nero is a good way to cut up tracks, but you can also use acid and cooledit in a very simular way, but i always use nero

Ok,well you should be ok. Ofcoarse you could always try reinstalling nero as well, the program maybe currupt. But it is a lot harder to fix a prob when you aint there.
Yo Tiesto14,
I usually let the entire green field fill out before I click OK at making the individual tracks. If you are running the same slow ass speed as me then this will cause your computer to lock up. I know because I've rebooted many times trying to figure that out.
As it loads up your MP3 and you split your tracks , just wait until the green field is done and you should be fine to click OK.
I think that step with converting it to wav is probably a waste of time for Nero users since Nero will automatically convert it while it burns. Even in wav format, the file still has to load up on the "Index Screen" (the green field)

Is that why u convert them to WAV because NERO freezes when you try tracking it with MP3...cus thats my problem it freezes with tracking the MP3 |
i dotn index them....i put "splits" in and then put the times i want each new track to start....is there another way to put tracks into a live set i NERO...thats the only way i know
and Quickstep...i am going to try letting it all load up before i click ok when i mess with it in a few
ok i converted them to WAV from MP3...and everyhting works VERY FAST now and it doesnt freeze...thats so weird that that did it...thanks everyone for all the help...i am happy now
