Shame / Disagreement Another Crobar low blow

Last night hanging at a local lounge with friends I was told a story about a new-low in Crobar experiences. Last week, out of boredom my friend and his buddy drove into the city from Brooklyn to Crobar because they had a couple of Comps to waste. They went into Crobar around midnight on Saturday, the day after Sharam, the club was pretty much empty with no music on the main floor and 200 people at the bar drinking. (Crobar is turning into an over-sized BAR) As he said, it was first time in years they came to the city clubbing without any pills, and because of that they were at the bar getting drunk like the rest of the people there. Next thing he knows, they are doing shots with two, very hot looking, 21 year old girl. The next thing later he knows, the girls are looking to get "fucked up" and all he has to offer them is a joint he had on him. Four of them walked over to some empty corner in the club and before he knows as he took the joint out, a number of bouncers had him and his friend pounded into the wall, smacked couple of more times into the wall, carried into a small room, thoroughly searched over, and then handled over to the cops outside for summons issuing before let go to go back to Brooklyn. THE TWO HOT 21 YEAR OLD GIRLS WERE CROBAR EMPLOYEES DOING THEIR JOB. After leaving Crobar, driving back to Brooklyn, bruised up, smoking another joint with his friend, they were both just wondering why didn't the Crobar girls give them back over a hundred bucks that my friend paid for the girls drinks.

PS. While I was @ Crobar the day before when Sharam was spinning, on couple of occasions through the night, after I climbed the little stage to show off dancing with glow-sticks, different paired 21 year old hot looking girls would approach me the rest of the night and ask me if I can sell them some pills. What a coincidence was that?

LOL

So it was bad that they were trying to keep drugs out by using sting ops? I was always under the impression you should keep drugs to yourself and on the DL if possible. And they usually don't give you your money back when you get busted doing illegal things. Maybe NY is different.

ahh i see...good story btw

Why the fuck do you bring in drugs to the place?

I hope people keep getting busted like that

Posted by dcctnycprincess on Oct-09-2006 18:49:

your friends sound like complete idiots

you deserve to get pounded into the walls if you're dumb enough to share joints with two "hot" chicks

LOL, whole place is filled with DTs. No real surprise there.

May be clubs should get drug sniffing dogs, to avoid such happy experiences, rub downs by a fat bouncer without first buying me a drink, and save themselves on extra employees by letting a dog sniff out drugs before people snick thier stash inside the club.

There was a time when I have attempted to be nice to bartenders I've gotten to know (both male and female) because I was trying to be nice, so I feel sympathy for your friends. That said, they are like I realized I was being, stupid, especially considering the climate at Crobar now.

I don't disagree the "stupidity" factor involved. As I was saying myself: during Sharam set, when the hot chicks were asking me to hook them up with pills, I would take my shades down, politely smile back, and tell them: "Sorry, can't help you there".

they earned that "low blow"

I guess things are changing now a days...it's not longer an ok/cool thing to do while socializing. Maybe we should change our social approach tactics and ask Are you a Cop and I need to see some ID before I buy you a drink, good chance also your friends coulda got slapped with buying alcohol for minors if they didn't do a thorough background check before socializing with them

It IS hilarious if you think about it - using pairs of hot chicks to catch dealers in the act Sucks that your friends wasted their money on the girls; that's an interesting tactic to say the least.

the way the nightlife is headed we might need to institute some drastic measures...shades being only one form of disguise.

i can picture it now...

hey i was over there standing by the bar and was wondering if i can buy you a drink, but first can i see some ID and are you a cop?

no i'm not a cop and here is my background portfolio, can you please take off your disguise

LOL

Some habbits never die!!!

...and tell me otherwise if I am wrong in saying that there is nothing more pleasureble when coming out of club wearing shades while unwelcoming sun is trying to blind you.

I ran into the same 2 girls at AVB... after about 10 minutes, they solicited me for pills, at which point I laughed at them and said good luck w/ that... (my friend warned me about a similiar situation he saw a fwe weeks back)

Thanks for sharing that story. Sucks for your friends, but they really should've known better. Not to sound paranoid, but I don't trust anyone I don't personally know. It's fine to chat and dance with anyone, but when it comes to that stuff you just politely decline any knowledge. Crobar's smart using the girls though. They can bleed patrons of a couple hundred dollars before kicking them out.

that's not being paranoid - it's called being smart

ahah or just play dumb, or pretend to be DT and say you're letting them off THIS time.

Granted in Europe I've always relied on the kindness of strangers, current NYC isn't exactly the same as Amsterdam.
