Tiësto and Reebok collaborate with DJ footwear

From the Tiesto newsletter...

Tiësto and Reebok collaborate with DJ footwear

Last night Tiësto and Reebok announced their collaboration in creating special RBK Tiësto footwear during an international press conference in Amsterdam. Tiësto collaborated with top Reebok designers to create his limited edition footwear and the result is an authentic collection that truly depicts the inspiring life of DJ’s.

Elevating the fusion of sports and music to an unprecedented new level, Tiësto has partnered with Reebok to collaborate on a limited edition DJ footwear collection. The first footwear created specifically for the club scene, RBK’s DJ line is inspired by the lifestyle of those who love to DJ. Each DJ shoe in Tiësto’s exclusive 4-pair collection reflects a piece of his exciting life and showcases his cutting-edge style.

“I feel a link with Reebok as we both believe in setting yourself personal goals and not letting yourself be caught up in hype or in what people around you think you should do or how you should be. And to never loose sight of who you are and how you started.”

Tiësto’s RBK DJ footwear will launch with the first two models on October 9th, 2006, and will launch the second two pairs on November 23rd, 2006. One style will feature sleek, clean colors of white/orange/black paying homage to the national color of Tiësto’s home country, orange. The second pair will showcase a sporty style in the colors of the Dutch flag of white/red and royal blue. In addition to the DJ footwear a line of matching caps are designed.

Both the Tiësto footwear and the caps can be ordered in the webshop on www.tiesto.com.

They look like a tennis shoe with kiddie's marker pen on! Not cool at all.

If I see anyone wearing them, I will stamp on their feet.

BE WARNED!

True, but still, Tiesto shoes? Come the fuck on, this is not 1992.

I will just stamp on everyone's feet that look like they are wearing Tiesto shoes .

I can just imagine all the slander this thread is going to get just because it's tiesto's. I'll try to be as indifferent as possible, since it's still foremost footwear, and say the following:

- The orange version looks damn good. (I'm not digging the blue laces on the other one).

- Tiesto's name is not ALL over the shoe, which is also good (unlike other celebrity-marketed shoes)

- 99 euros is pretty damn average for a shoe like this. If you think it's expensive, go into footlocker and see the prices on Air Force Ones, and those shoes are snatched up like candy.

- I think it's a mistake to market it as DJ wear, they should have instead marketed it as a "clubbing shoe". With that said, it's possible that it *is* a very comfy clubbing shoe (I'm saying this because if there's any DJ consideration that went into designing the shoe (as they say), then what DJs do (stand, jump, dance from time to time) is not all that different from what people do on the dancefloor (stand, jump, dance)).

- Lastly, I'd never buy a shoe without trying it on first, and I don't know who would. Will it be available in retail shops, or just online?

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to all the hateful, ignorant bullshit TOTAs are going to spew in this thread, so don't let me down.

1992? Why what happened in 1992?

Hey if they're nice shoes (which they are), why not...

thats just Gay.

Tiesto should start designing furniture for Ikea too.
Fucking gay

Posted by starsearcher on Oct-10-2006 14:05:

So i'm just thinking who else has their shoes...

I think at least half the rappers have their own shoes...Gwen Stefani and JLO have their own clothing lines...hhmmm

Posted by Skipper on Oct-10-2006 14:05:

Wasn't that the year that Patrick Ewing and Air Jordan came out? I have absolutely nothing against Tiesto, I just think it is about time that trainer endorsements stop.... Unless we have one that donates some of the 800% profit to a worthy cause....

Perhaps it is the English in me but I have always been amused by endorsed trainers...
