[SYD] THAT BANG GANG DANCE and the demise of Sydney clubbing
As the new generation of clubbers bestow upon the night of Sydney, I shall voice my total and utter disaproval.
It begins at the Bang Gang Mecca of Kink (Arthouse). Long gone are the days where progressive house lovers dawned this fine club with the mentality that no matter what I look like, I'm hear to enjoy sound. This was a dream i had the privelege of witnessing. I draw comparisons with one particular night (because it was fucking brilliant) where myself a group of fellow syd.ta's jace and nix companyed by my friends Nat and her boyfriend saw James Zabiela play for Renaissance. This classes as one of the most memorable nights on record, not only for the music (which was fucking fantastic) but the crowd who enjoyed each others company more than anytime I can remember
2006 however resembles little of that same company and one important, if not vital point is the emergence of batty electro along with Ajax and his Bang Gang sheep. Kink has now turned into a place of bandana wearing, mullet hair cuts and skinny jeans and most notable THE BANG GANG AIR FUCKING DANCE. Tension and attitude are served weekly, with numerous reports of fighing created by this atmosphere. Only at Park Like last week, reports were riff that there were numerous instances of punch ups in the tent where Ajax played.
How can something be so good and fall from grace so far? Even at the Laudry when m00f was playing minimal they were doing the BANG GANG dance and asking for their all know messier!
Rise, Revolt, kill Bang Gang and lets go back to the good olds where bandanas and electro were widley condemned!
Yes, Bang Gang is a curse that must be erradicated.

When I went to kink few months ago after a very long time and witnessing this OMG puts the whole scene in shame

does anyone remember my fine form at a Habit a few months ago? being rather drunk my memory of that night is somewhat sparse, but i've been told that i was breaking out some fully sik bang gang dance moves

floral dresses can be hot.
the only thing about big sunnies is they make ugly chicks look way too hot. then they take em off and are well mong.
then again, spose they can leave em on....

I still rate Kink, they still bust out decent acts/music in my opinion. If you stay away from the bang gang nights in particular you don't have to put up with cheezy mashup electro and you also dont have to put up with those shire kooks that look like they survived an explosion at a paint and shitty hair factory.

agreed! i have never set foot inside the arthouse except for zabiela (which as you put it was highly memorable!) and i never plan to cause of Kink.

Sid, Ajax is very versatile, a set he would play at Bang Gang or Kink is VERY VERY different to one he would play in the Cave

Bang Gang is the scourge of the Syd scene, Muzzas are the disease that has infected your scene (and trickling over into ours

The Bang Gang are a group of like 6 or 7 DJ's who play mashup electro .. they have like their own little sub-scene where all the kids dress like multicoloured fruits, have oddball emo haircuts and have their own little dance (as illustrated in this thread)
Ajax is a really talented dude .. for the most part theyre all pretty decent, just the stuff they play most of the time isnt really to my taste.

Bang gang play monthly parties at Honkytonks in melb.. really like their style
thank god we dont get their fruitcake rainbow fans travelling down with them
