-- Stanton is starting to piss me off.

Posted by s3nate on Oct-12-2006 00:42:

Stanton is starting to piss me off.

Well I am trying to get my DJ 3000s repaired because the right side is cracked and they keep refering me to the Canadian distributor who then refers me right back to the American distributor!!

What should I do?

I only have until Dec until the manufactures warrenty expires.

Posted by sterilis on Oct-12-2006 00:59:

i had a stanton mixer and it started leaking after about 6 months. shit products. stick to pioneer, you cant go wrong.

Posted by Vero on Oct-12-2006 03:36:

yea, my first mixer was a stanton. what a piece of shit. ever since then, i've never trusted ANYTHING they made. good luck!

Been using stanton decks and mixer for years...

absolutely no problem what-so-ever...

Not one case of trouble

My 3000's broke after 4 months of usage. Fuck Stanton.

Posted by Yohan on Oct-12-2006 06:03:

I have a Stanton RM80 mixer. It's ok for basic mixing but that's about it. And one of the channels don't work anymore. Though i got it used so I shouldn't expect perfect condition.

Will have to upgrade soon. My CDJ 1000 mk3s keep looking at me like I'm not treating it well with a crappy mixer

Posted by blacknoizybox on Oct-12-2006 10:04:

dunno.... i have everything by Stanton (T.120, M.304, Trackmaster II SK) and i have to say the mixer is one of the best I have ever used, not mentioning that the T.120 wins over any Technics TT but thats another story lol )))

ive heard that in the past stanton made crappy stuff but I totally love my M.304 and Ive played DJM600 lots of time and Stanton is just better imo!

Dude,

You have to put your foot down with these people. Get angry and request to speak to a manager or supervisor and ask them to put it in writing. Take names etc.

If your warranty does exprire you can at least prove that it's down to their incompetance not your lack of attempting.

The bottom line is that you are probably speaking to some lazy underpaid person who doesn't give a shit.

You have to be like a bullterrier with this sort of thing. If they refer you to someone else ask them to explain exactly why.

In truth however it sounds to me as if the country that you bought them in should be the one that is responsible. I assume Canadian as you have that flag in your profile.

If the worst comes to the worst state that you want names, everything in writing and that you will take this to a customer complaints commission or similar.

Cheers

I agree, you have to be pretty assertive. But if someone asked for my name and I worked in a call centre, I'd give them a false name. There's no way I'm disjing my name out to some bloke who's pissed off with my companys products.....

If you work at a call center you don't really have any choice but to identifiy yourself to the customers. The calls are monitored so they can trace it back to you and they will fire you.

Email stanton. They sorted out my broken 3000s super quickly- send me a completely brand new sealed pair. I CANNOT complain about their customer service at ALL.

Otherwise, crap products.

That's why you also ask to speak to a senior rep or service leader.

As a rep, lying in a call ceter constitures as fraud and is not the way to go. You could be out of a job pretty quick if that was the case.

I have been in situations where people have just hung up on me but then you just call back and make a fuss about that as well, you will no doubt get some shit about how the line is dodgy.

Also keep in mind that being assertive is not being unpleasant. You can still reamin civalised.

I guess I forgot to include some key things.

I live in Canada but I got these headphones as a present for Christmas and they were bought from the USA from I think zzounds.com.

i have a stanton mixer. its alright but i dont like it that much to basic and cant get smooth fades with it volume is all messed on it

Posted by blacknoizybox on Oct-14-2006 08:06:

(offtopic)

dont know why you guys say so. the M.304/505 faders are very smooth and I've had no issues so far. no leaks, no volume skips, nothing. just pure mixing and great sound

Posted by T-Soma on Oct-14-2006 11:43:

The C/F is P&G... I only use the C/F for scratching though... wich i still suck at but is hella fun.
I dont see anything wrong with any of the faders.

So today I now join the ranks of people with snapped DJ 3000s!!!

Joy....

Posted by Ryan0751 on Oct-16-2006 20:33:

I had a pair of the 2000's that cracked. Sent them back to Stanton for replacement, and it took over 3 months! I ended up buying some Sony's and now have the Stantons as backup. Why would it take so long?

Posted by x_moe on Oct-17-2006 22:22:

i have the stanton 2000 headphone, been using it for a year now and its still in a great shape, i luv it
