I hope most of you can reach french, you will understand that translating tis is a hell of a job, but I will try to do it....

Mainly, it says a Big thank you for all of you that participated to RM events in the last 6 years, and that RM19 was the last one.

Eh oui, apr�s 19 �v�nements sur pr�s de 6 ans, je tire ma r�v�rance sur la longue s�rie d'�v�nements Ravemontreal.com. Ceux qui y �tait vendredi dernier, ont v�cu sans le savoir, un moment important dans la petite vie de Ravemontreal. Il n'y aura pas de RM20.

Le dernier �v�nement fut sp�cial, rempli d'�motion, et quoi de mieux que la belle musique de Moshic pour boucler cette belle aventure. J'ai v�cu beaucoup de choses vendredi dernier, et j'ai vu sur vos visages, beaucoup de joie et de plaisir. De tous les RMs, ce fut l'un des plus touchants, et c'est parfait pour moi de terminer sur cette note. Ca me permet d'arr�ter en gardant que le positif et les beaux souvenirs.

Pourquoi cette d�cision? Ne vous inqui�tez pas, je n'ai rien perdu de l'amour pour la sc�ne, ni de ma passion pour le Djing, ni de mon int�r�t pour ravemontreal. Par contre, avec le temps, je me bats de plus en plus contre des chiffres, ce qui me stress de plus en plus, et enl�ve le plaisir � l'exercice. Les chiffres ne mentent pas, depuis RM9, le nombre de participants est constamment � la baisse. Et je crois que depuis les derniers, il est pr�f�rable d'arr�ter, avant que les derni�res soir�es perdent de leur charme. Il n'y aura pas un RM40, avec 25 personnes dans une grande salle.

Je sais que les �v�nements RM sont de beaux �v�nements, je sais aussi par contre, que les espaces vides derni�rement amm�ne un malaise. Il y avait une belle crowd vendredi et la soir�e fut quand meme un succ�s consid�rant la baisse du black & Blue et la soir�e tr�s tranquille de Nic Fancuilli au Stereo. Je suis satisfait du nombre de gens, je suis surtout satisfait de QUI �tait l�. Des gens que j'aime beaucoup.

La sc�ne a chang�e, et je n'ai pas su trouver le d�nominateur commun de la nouvelle �poque. Le rassembleur de masse. Les go�ts sont de plus en plus vari�s, les gens sont de plus en plus divis�s dans leur choix, et sortent de moins en moins... Je fais �galement face � un nombre incalculable de Djs internationaux qui viennent chaque semaine � MTL, impressioner les gens avec peu de moyens devient un v�ritable casse-t�te.

Que mon �v�nement soit techno ou house, after ou independant, headliners ou locaux, gratuits ou payants, j'ai essay� depuis RM9 diff�rentes combines qui m'am�ne � la m�me conclusion... le nombre de participants baisse. J'ai voulu ratisser large pour garder mes foules, et je n'ai pas su trouver la recette pour contrer cela. Et surtout, je suis en train d'oublier de rendre l'exp�rience confortable pour ceux qui viennent encore.

Et paranoyer sur les chiffres n'est plus quelque chose qui me rend heureux. Je tente d'offrir le max de qualit�, � des prix ridicules, mais ce n'est plus possible maintenant de continuer en voulant produire des �v�nements comme s'il y avait encore 1000 personnes.

Ceci dit, ca ne veut pas dire que je cesse la production d'�v�nement. Mais je retourne d'ou je suis venu, l'endroit que j'aime: l'underground. C'est ma nouvelle mission, prendre soin du crowd que j'aime, et le faire pour eux. Fini de supplier et tenter de convaincre les gens inint�ress�s pour avoir 200 personnes de plus et rentrer dans mon argent. Pas de flyer, pas de topic, pas de review... Intime, et plus chaud et dark que jamais.

Si vous avez contribu� � un Rm par votre belle pr�sence, fort probablement que vous allez en entendre parler.

J'aimerais vous remercier chaleureusement, individuellement pour les 19 �v�nements. Nous avons, ensembles, cr�er la plus belle s�rie de soir�es et des souvenirs incroyables. Je tourne la page avec un coeur heureux.

I am sorry to hear that Martin but after having talked to you about some booking ideas this year I can't say I am all that surprised you have made this decision.

I certainly appreciated what your parties brought to the Montreal scene.. including the techno bookings like Monika Kruse, Devilfish, Basic Implant (Alex Bau & Sven Dedek), Stanny Franssen, Thomas Krome, and of course Rush to name a few! definitely some special nights there

Congrats on 6 years and 19 memorable parties!!

I am so sad to hear the news, but I have a lot of respect for you and everything you have done for the scene in Mtl. Thank you for the devotion and love you gave to these RM parties. I will keep with me some great memories.

from the beginning, I don't think i have seen better man than you to offer free raves for edm fans. Your idea was from the heart, not from the wallet at first and its sad to hear its now the end.

I only went to 2 RM's and it had been a few years,but they were definately memorable parties.Enjoy the fact that you brought pleasure for so many by doing these and keep breaking peoples ankles on the dancefloor

It's too bad ... what's going on with our scene? Where the hell are people going? Has everyone moved onto trashy clubs now that they play house and tech?

Thank you so much everybody for your kind words. Much appreciated since it is a very emotional moment for me.

I will be back with a new mission, a hard one, to give life again to the real underground movement. That's where I came from, that's where i'm going back. Maybe someday you will hear about it, if you bring life to this scene, you will.

Whatever your new mission is, know that I personally will be there 100% to support it and make it work to the MAX. You have put sooooooo much time and energy into this scene, and you're NEVER thinking about $$$...I don't think I really know any other person who does what they do for the scene as sincerely as you...and without thinking of the $$$ aspect! VERY rare (almost impossible) to come by...

You know your efforts are HUGELY appreciated on my part, Martin, because I really understand what it is you're trying to do...Make music come 1st...but, unfortunately, #s do matter in today's EDM world. Know that you have real people out there following what you do...I'm one of them So if you need any help, anything at all, regarding your new project, please let me know, I'd be more than happy to help out

i only went to the dave the durmmer night at gravity and i undersand martin's point of view on the lack of people in parties.... every time i tried to organize something on my own it always made me cancel on the fact of being scared of not making the numbers add up ... and it becomes very stressfull...
