i think i can get the 1st one but not the 2nd. i'll be back in my studio later tonight and give it another shot.

I haven't heard the second riff yet, but the first is ridiculously easy.

As usual I'm gonna say DO IT YOURSELF!!!

It's called learning, if you think you can produce good tracks without bothering to train your ear to this basic level you're kidding yourself.

No no, I am not trying to be good producer or anything I am just new beginner, nothing pro. And I just can't get the melody/structure, no matter if You might think it is silly easy... So I can't do it myself

That would be so cool
Let me know how it goes

Here's the first one, I still haven't heard the second.

This riff will probably be based on a chord progression, I'd say Dm, A#, C, Dm. So I stuck in the chords to show you how they sound with the riff. It sounds boring just the normal chords so I changed the notes about a bit later on.

It sounds best played using a piano sample, you might have to move the chords down an octave for them to sound good.

Haha,

Just rearrange the timing and octave of notes in the chords for the guitar riff.

Thank you very very much
This is super good!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for the help! awesome!

I am bit embarrassed to ask this, but can you also help wit the bass structure?
it is in the first sample.... It sounds bit same as Benassi bass sounds?

Posted by Lana on Oct-16-2006 06:35:

k---k---k---k---
b-b-b-b-uuuu--bb

k=kick
b=short bass note
u=long bass note

this is what I get when I try to make the bass line/structure... but I don't think it's correct

I'll get round to it soon.. just be patient

Ok so here's the bass from part 1, and then the bass from part 2 is different so I've done that too. I've got the rhythm of the chords down as well. The chords aren't perfect but it's fucking hard to make out notes from a guitar distorted that heavily, for example at one part I matched the lower notes of the chords with the bass. On the other part I didn't - you decide what's best, I reckon the chords shouldn't match the bass.

Oh yeah.. play the bass monophonically (so only one note can play at a time) with a little bit of portamento/glide. This will get rid of that 'uh-oh' note clash you can hear.

If you want to return the favour - learn how to do this yourself. Listen to little bits at a time and try to slow it down in your head. Then it should be easier to play back. YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU JUST TRY!!!
