Smiley DJ Mr Sam feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Lodestar (Sunquest Remix) [FULL FREE Download!]

So the results of the Blackhole Competition are in and the winners are "Jay B" and "Arcane Science". Congrats to them Jay B being only 17! Well anyways, since my remix didn't win and as I promised I'd share it, here you all go:

Mr Sam feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Lodestar (Sunquest Remix) [Download Here!]

Length: 7:43
Quality: 320
Genre: Chillout Trance

I know the voice is a bit off at some points but no big deal, it was very hard to get the voice on time as it's not your average 4x4 trance tune, so shush all the picky ones

Enjoy!

Don't care if it's free download or whatever, you make a tune/remix or whatever, you post it here, not CD reviews / New releases.

if only you had done this as the breakdown to a powerful trance track

you would have been so much more likely to win.

fantastic production skils. perfect vocal use and mixing eq. the vocal couldnt sit any better.

percussions are MASSIVE. the whole thing just really flys out of my speakers at me. so transparent.

overall not complaints at all and the reason you didnt get anywhere is the fact that they prob wouldnt press something like this for a dance label. however im surprised they didnt make space on the vinyl for this chilldown mix.

fantastic work. 10/10

One of the winners is a downtempo remix

Nice remix here, it would even work very well without the vocals, maybe you could put up an instrumental mix? I really do like the synth that comes in at about 3:17 and sounds a bit like an e-guitar.

about the vocals: i had the same problems when doing my remix. some day i took a listen to the original mix and realized they were off at many points there, which - tbh - sounds quite weird

Anyway: Good work, I like what you did

Maybe you want to check out my remix as well: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=375471

Wow! Another great production. I think the vocals work well.

nice stuff liked the sitar or whatever it is...piano is quite nice too, but the vocals are really off sometimes...which is a bit disturbing :-(

I like the feel of the song and the beat. I would suggest working more on the vocals and fitting them with the song better.

Good remix man, I enjoyed listening to it

Wow, I really, really enjoyed this tune! I regret that I didn't finish my own remix of this, but oh well. This one definitely does it justice. I like this one better than the original. It reminds me of Delerium quite a bit.

I didn't feel that the vocals were that terribly off as to make me cringe. I thought that the fact that they were just a little bit off of the beat added a nice "human" element to the track. I also really enjoyed the "sitar"-type sound, and the electric guitar-type sound. Excellent percs and excellent atmosphere.

My only complaint: I'm also not sure about the high-pitched vocals... but it has little do to with the production and more to do with the fact that the last note sounds off-pitch. I noticed that in the remix pack. The placement and such works just fine.

Again, great job, and thanks for sharing!

By the way, if you have a moment, I'd appreciate a review of my latest track, too. Take it easy!

I like your use on the vocals although kristy did a horrible job on this one.
I like the melodies you used.
The production is ace.
The lyrics are also stupid lol.
The track doesn't really do it for me.
