For a 2 ch... Pioneer DJM-400.

Posted by Spirit5 on Oct-14-2006 03:03:

Ecler Nuo 3 or Nuo 4, probably my next mixer whenever I can get some funds for it...probably by Christmas or a little after. Less expensive than most of the stuff from Pioneer or A&H or Rane, and although it isn't digital like some of Pioneers stuff, it is up there with A&H products as far as quality goes. Maybe no effects, but is really good for it's price.

you get what you pay for with dj equipment...in other words most of behringer's equipments is crap. i have a vestax VMC004xl currently but im getting a pio DJM800 within a week or two...i highly recommend the vestax for a beginners setup.

i only mix with 2 channels, djm-400 has been doing great for me.

The Behringer range seems to have very few fans - it will break sooner or later & you'll have to spend yet more money on another mixer. I'm sure many will suggest DJM800/Allen & Heath Xone 92/Ecler Nuo. Here's something a little different...

I learned on a used Numark DM1001. About as basic as you can get - 2 channels, the level meters served no purpose as no more than the first 2 LED's ever lit up, adjusting the gains made barely any difference to the track. So it did what should (just) & nothing more. For all it's faults i have fond memories of it - its like my first girlfriend to me

Like my first girlfriend I eventualy got bored of it's shortcomings & wanted to trade it in for a sleeker newer model

I couldn't find anywhere to let me try out an Allen & Heath so seeing as my CDJ's have been excellent I decided to go with Pioneer. After saving for months & months I eventually settled on a used DJM909 on eBay. Only having the 2 channels suits me fine.

The first thing I noticed was the sound quality. Even on my crappy 20 headphones everything was so much clearer. The level meters work, the EQ's actually do things to the music! The faders are so much smoother. The step up in quality was amazing. It was like switching my missus for Jessica Simpson

It's labelled a battle mixer but I just mix trance & it performs brilliantly. Well worth considering if 2 channels is enough (you can use 2 turntables + 2 CDJ's on it). There's also the little matter of 50 high quality onboard FX...

i would recommend the djm 800 .. abit of the overkill now .. but i would be able to last u a looooooooooooooonnnnnnnggggggggggg time .. plus u won't have to worry bout getting a new mixer in future... may as well spend the money .. then spend more money and effort in future.

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-14-2006 13:49:

you will start throwing stones on me...but I think behringer's kinda serve their purpose...

as in...when someone new into DJing wants to just see if he'll like it...and not spend too much money...

I would prefer the cheaper models of numarks etc...

but still some of the behringers I played on were sort of good...for the fact that they were behringers...

don't get me wrong...I'm as much of a behringer hater as everyone else

i got a vestax pcv 275. Pretty decent mixer, the only fualt i have is that the eq knobs only do -16db on bass and treble and -12 on mids.

I pined for a DJM or a denon x1500 until i played on an x-one 62 in a club. Now i need to find 1000 to buy one

I'm running a Pioneer DJM 500 and I can't complain too much. Besides, I got a hell of a deal on it.

Warning: You'll be disapointed, trust me. As mentioned above, you get what you pay for in the world of dj'ing and that tends to always be true.

Allen-Heath Xone:32

^Click that, if you cant fund that, it's more than enough for a starter and not to mention, A&H is a killer brand. Cant go wrong. Also, Ecler's are very good aswell, the new ones are cheaper and have less channels but they have all you need.

Ecler Nuo3

^3 Channels, very nice

Ecler Nuo4

^The Nuo4 is 4 channels, cheaper than the xone32 by a tiny bit but has 1 extra channel if you ever want to expand a lot more. IMO you shouldnt need to go above 3 cdj's / turntables.

i have a vestax pcv-175 with the rotary kit. i like it, but it could be better though. if i ever upgrade i'll probably get the xone:92 rotary. that's pretty much the only mixer besides my current one that would be worth my money.
