Burning problems...please help
Ok heres the deal: new cendyne burner (24x10x40) newer computer (1.4GHz AMD Athlon 1600 XP, 256 MB of ram, etc) and CDRWIN burning software. Im not sure of the speed of the CDs, but thats my best idea as to the problem. The error I keep getting says:
Error 'write' command failed on device 0:0:0
Erad/write error or bad medium detected (some mumbo jumbo)
Any idea what is happening?
"Bad medium detected" means that the CD is bad, or not capable of burning at fast speeds.
Have you tried burning at a slower speed, like 6x ?
Its Fujifilm CDs by the way. 16x seems to work usually, and 20 has worked a time or two.
Ok.. then its the CDs... because most only burn up to 16x. It usually says on the package when you buy them.
Update: Its possible that I had the wrong speed cds, but I bought a 50-pack of Memorex 24x CDs and I still didnt get a full burn. So I shut down, came back up, tried it again, still no burn.
You DO have the legit version of CDRWin, right ?
If youre talking about the cracked version, yes. The one that didnt work created a full cd (tracked) of hissing as if youd unplugged the sattelite/cable from your TV. I got that one fixed, and now itll burn about 70% and then kick out the original error. Weird thing is, I just tried burning a data cd with Nero and it burned fine but I did notice that the read buffer and the write buffer didnt stay as stable as they used to with the old burner (8x Sound Blaster, IDE). It took 6:31 to write 697mb to it.
Hmm im having the same problems with my 4x burner? Do u have Xp as a OS? I think that maybe Xp fucks it up!
try another burning software .. such as NERO .. it works great. if you need a copy, icq me...

Im running WindowsME. Nero works pretty good but you cant use cuesheets with it. That was my whole reason for using CDRWIN.
i see.. you sure you have a GOOD copy of cdrwin? mine works great..

Of course you can use cue sheets with Nero ! File -> Burn Image ... easy.
I tried and 2 things happened: It only looked for .iso and .nrg files (but I canged it to all so the .cue would show up). After that, I selected the cue file and it said "This image file will be burned as a single audio track. Do you still want to continue?"
Try Feurio. www.feurio.de . This is very good, I've never had any problems with it. It deos the cuesheet stuff for you, or you can import a cuesheet file from another app, such as CDRCue (also very good, this is what I use instead of the Feurio inbuilt one.)
get yourself a copy of nero, i *hate* cdrwin. it's trash, IMHO.
that error is fairly generic, it could mean a bunch of things. try burning at 4 or 8 speed and see what happens.
my guess is nero might fix the problem, if it's not the CDs themselves.

I had the same problem with my LG cdrw 12x8x32. Try download newer version of cdrwin. Personally I got it from www.cool-mix.prv.pl (Dj Ralph & Dj Storm homepage). IT WORKS 
I doubt that you understand anything on this site, so here's what you need to do:
1)type www.cool-mix.prv.pl in your browser
2) choose SOFTWARE
3)you're in the software part. You can download some programmes from there, here's some translation:
pobierz program = download programme
pobierz = download
There are some sets on that page in MIXY part, you can also try downloading them
