Ableton 6.0.1

Anyone else tried this out yet? I haven't seen a thread.

I got the upgrade last week when it came out and am very impressed. Same old ableton as far as what I do, but with dual processor support and a load of new features.

I have a track I am working on now that has tops 19 clips running at once. It used to use 160% of my processor which made playback impossible. Load my project up in 6 and WOW. 60% CPU usage and I can listen to the whole scene without a hicup.

I'm on a A64 3800+ X2, 2GB Ram, 1.5TB hd space, with my good ol Audigy 2 ZS Platinum.

Anyone else with any good or bad experiences?

damn you people and decent production computers. Mine starts to run funky when I have about 8 clips running, but they're absynth 3, z3ta, 3 fm7, battery 2. It has crashed for me once, but good thing it has the recovery thing.

Ram is quite cheap, and can make a world of difference if you put in 2gb+. Especially since you are using good vst's that eat a lot of resources.

But also the dual core difference is night and day in V6. So if you do want to go a little further you could pick up a cheap one to get you going.

thanks a lot for the advice. I plan on upgrading my computer altogether anyways.
