Confused Who here is actually a dj? (pics).......

I dj at a club (teen club im only 16) two times a week. Just wanted to know who here in TA is actually a real dj, tell where you dj and how often, and post some pics if you got any. Here are some pics of me djing and my setup (i use my own equipment at the club, there setup sucks). The good thing about djing at a club is you get ALOT of girls and it is fun as hell

Here are the pics....

I'd like to DJ, but it seems pretty tough, and it's expensive to get into (Lots of Vinyl and Equipment)

Once a week, I sit down with my ACID 3.0 and MIX LIKE MAD!!!

I plan on becoming a "real" DJ. For now though, I'm just learning.

I've Djed for a few years, only really played at parties for friends, what I'm planning to in the future with another friend of mine, is put on a night somewhere buts a matter of money, and deciding the venue, and all that stuff, we know what music will be playing, and we could probably pull a crowd, but we need s.

What kind of music do you play? You don't play any good trance tracks do you? Cause I'm 16 too and if I play out I have to play all commercial crap that's on the radio, it pisses me off.

I play trance, hard trance (pvd style) i go to the record store 1 every 2 weeks. The club pays for most of the stuff so money isnt realy a problem. Whatever you do do not play comercial stuff.

shit! i hope one day i ll have the same oportunity like u have! am i wrong then if i say that..life sux!?? never mind ill keep learning and searching for a chance!

I have 2 Numark TT-1520's and a Gemini BPM-150 mixer.
I DJ at home, in the basement, only learning so far.
Slowly getting better. (I'm 21.)

Tell me , Nate, how does it feel like to DJ live, in front of a big crowd?
Is it scary? What do you do if you make a mistake?
Is it hard to beatmatch with all the noise?

just go to a local night club near your area. Make friends with the manager, give him your mixed cd, tell him you would like a job , and hopefully it will take off. Good Luck and never say that life sux it can only get better.

well, actually, if you give him a mixed CD with NON-commercial stuff, he might not like you.

How'd you get into DJing?

I'd really like to try it, but it seems time-consuming, expensive, and a little confusion. I wish I had a friend who was a DJ so I could get mentored.

Djing at a club wasnt my first time infront of a live crowd. I have been djing since i was 14. I djed all of my friends house parties for free lots of times and you get used to the crowd, and their reactions. If you make a mistake you CANT get nervous. Just act quit and make it sound good. Practice makes perfect.

Dont give him hardcore deep trance, give him nice melodic uplifting trance that will get the crowd going, and has a unique sound that no one else has.

when you make a mistake, do people actually notice it

Man, sending mix cd's to various clubs does not work!..i sent like 3 clubs my mix cd and i never got a call once! teen clubs are hard to get gigs at..you have to be lucky..my mix cd consisted of good trance..def club shit..it pisses me off that not one club called ..and the club buys vinyl for you? thats fucked up..i never heard of something like that? do they also pay you each gig you spin at?

you CAN'T make any big mistakes. When the beat isn't matched just a little push will help. But if the mix gets out of control just spin the record and cut it. And make it sound as good as you can.

well i was very good friends with the manager and i just poped the queshtin to him one night and he agreed. I guess i was lucky. I get played VERY VERY little for each night, that why they buy me the records. Im not doing it for the money so it really dosent matter for me. I make my money back by giving out my card to the crowd and getting piad well for doing private parties.
