Who likes shoes?

OK, while I was in another thread I realised that some of us TA's are also into shoes as well. Here's some of my own...

All are completely DS. I bought the Cool Grey XI's off my boss for $100. I purchased the black patent leather AF1's, black w/ grey stitching AF1's, and un-heiny Dunk Hi's all in Denmark.
Lets see what some of you guys have!

Dan, they all look brand new; do you wear them or just keep them around for others to look at like them fat coffee table books for conversation openers?

EDIT: I mean, if you wear them: how do you keep them all so clean?
I have this pair of rare edition Prada trainers sneakers I bought this spring in London but I think after 6 months they are almost completely destroyed because they are white, grey and blue and I wore them all summer season and now they like dirty and I dunno if they're cleanable.

Posted by danlaxx1 on Oct-16-2006 22:39:

I'm glad you asked that question! There's an ongoing debate between people who wear their shoes and people who keep them in their boxes. I choose not to wear mine. As far as conversation starters, they're barely that. I have a wall that I display (some of) them on in my room. If there's a particular shoe that I really like, I'll buy two pairs. One to wear and one to look at. I know it sounds crazy. I'm trying to think of an analogy to compare it to, but I can't think of one right now. As far as keeping them clean, I have nearly 15 sneaker cleaners that I brought from Foot Locker (I find it works the best out of any out there). Normally, if there's a shoe that I want to keep looking fresh, I'll clean it after every time I wear it. Just spray a little on, scrub lightly with the brush, let it sit for 30 seconds then wipe off with a clean paper towel and back in the box they go!

Nice collection you got there, big sneakerfreaker here myself.

I collect mostly AM90s, did the dunk thing and found too many cats were flexing them so I moved onto another sneaker. From the looks of it, you just started collecting? Not bad so far man keep it up, those bucks and jedi's are nice grey box sbs. Mostly anything before the pink boxes were all heaters, anything after that got kind of ridiculous.

I work with some of the cats over at Sole Collector, if you haven't heard about them yet you should check them out - www.solecollector.com - join up on the forums over there if you haven't already.

Also check out BlueSole.com, it's this new auction site we've been working on to compliment our marketplace and rival ebay's fake sneakers.

If you have any questions, dont hesitate to holler at me and I'll see how much I can help out..

here's some from my collection

dunks

yea i know the addiction needs to stop....
if ur interested, i got some SB shit I'd like to sell - Nike SB Avenger Cap Blue, DS Black Carhartts 10.5....probably not your size but if you know someone maybe LOL

Make sure u hit up those sites if you ain't already beasting on them...

Also JDAT on TA is on crazy ass sneaker collector...he got heat that'll crack yo neck! - also was probably the one who is responsible for sucking all my fucking time out of my day cuz all i do is look at schewz

sick collection dude.

Posted by InterMilan31 on Oct-16-2006 23:50:

nice collection guys I dont have a collection I just buy and sell and wear lol. Currently have on the Haze Dunks

Favs:
Shox R4 (Canadian colourway)
Air Max 360 new but fucking great
Air Max 95
Air Max 97
Dunk Lo's
Nike FC's

Really into the SB line and basketball shoes. I ball in 2k4's or 2k5's.

Not to big my head up but the way I made alot of my money was selling samples/unreleased/limited kicks on the net(Nike-Center.com) back in 2000/2001 when there was only a few of us. Stoped it after 2 years and really been on the outskirts of the shoe game ever since. I know right I missed it! Sneaker collecting is insane now I used to know all the shit but no time anymore. Glad to see others are keepng up.

Oh my prized posestion would be Nike Dunk Queens (pigeon edition)

Kid_nyce thats awsome how you know those guys from Sole they are true inivators taking it to another level. Really cool how some of the different players in the sneaker game are doing it big now. Wish I knew about you guys earlier probably when I signed up for TA was when I was "done" with sneakers. Still a sneaker head and will drop the occasional 500 bucks on some stupid dunks.

Any DS NIB 10.5 kicks you got PM me in the market always!

Dan those the Jedi dunks? And those are from that Jordan Golden Moments or whatever pack realeased earlier this year right? Very cool shit same with you kid_nyce

Posted by danlaxx1 on Oct-16-2006 23:56:

I'm not really a beginner. I started about 3 years ago when I started working at Foot Locker. Those are just a few among my favorites. I also have reverse Supas, stone/olives, Jordan pack and 5 pairs of DS neon 95s I agree with everyone jumping on the Dunk bandwagon. It's annoying to hear Funkmaster Flex claim himself as the "Official sneaker pimp of NYC." Thanks for those sites! I know about Sole Collector, I get it whenever I see it at Tower Records. I'll def check out bluesole.com, that's a new one to me!

-Dan

Edit: Yeah those are the Jedi's. I had to buy two pairs of those! One to wear and one to stare. Those are also the Jordan Defining Moments from back in March.

I got you - yea I started that auction site with the owner of Sole Collector Magazine, he had the idea and had asked me to head up the online marketing strategy for his site. Apparently our budget could only hold up just the dedicated server, line it runs on, software package, and outsourced programmers. We will have a bit of programming to do on our end in terms of the user management tables but thats the simple part to the sql/php.

Some news, we landed our PR via PRWeb @ http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/10/prweb447166.htm

You can see my write up in the next Sole Collector issue in November "tagged -brian c [sourdiesel]" =)

If ur looking for SBs, got a pair of 10.5 DS NIB Black Carhartt's that I'm trying to clear out. Let me know if they interest you....

more pix cuz I know u'll ask for'em

definitely jump on the forums then, the magazine is just the eye candy part, i'm surprised that you've been in the game 3 years and never heard of ISS Forums, probably one of the largest online sneaker communities out there besides NikeTalk.

I made my way into SneakerPimps group on ISS/SoleCollector...some cool cats from the euro runners market not affiliated with the domestic 'sneakerpimps' that flex and the others represent.

Definitely jump on bluesole man, when it blows up then maybe i'll be giving out kicks LOL. BTW we just let a pair of playstation AF1's go for $1,700 and Lebron J III Birthday Remixes which I think ended somewhere near $500.

in his defence ISS has been at the front with places like NT for just a year now or a bit more. Im not on ISS and Im on NT. I never really post anymore I cant stand the whole culture of it anymore. It goes with the times though. Back in the day when I did it early 2000 i was into rap and the culture wasnt so retarted as it is now in my oppion. Like th Funk Flex comment that type of shit pisses me off.

SB stuff is sick not really into those but yeah like I said always in the market...if it meets my taste.

Im KingB31 on NT i have some stuff for sale right now but just basketball kicks:

2k4 Laser Kobe's
2k5 All Star Kobe's
Lebron 20-5-5 Asian Tour Edition HK

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Oct-17-2006 00:09:

no need to defend him man, its all love whether you starting now with 2 pairs or you have 500 pairs, it's true though there is hate in that game...alot of it.

you have to see it from my point of view though, it's a business hence why I'm in the market =P

can't stop the hustle...

Posted by InterMilan31 on Oct-17-2006 00:14:

haha yeah I love finding those steals and turning it for a profit!

I do some realllllly long term investments like buying just normal Lebrons and leaving them untouched

That's what I plan on doing with my DMP's and AM95s. Not sure if I could part with the Dunks. However, money talks...
