Posted by pslip on Oct-17-2006 00:40:

Posted by dallastar on Oct-17-2006 00:48:

can I buy some of the records?

Posted by pslip on Oct-17-2006 00:50:

Here's the thing. I really need to sell everything together. I need the money, and i just don't have time to sell things seperate. I'm really sorry.

Sad

ok....

well here's the thing, I already gots the equipment and I thought I would ask!

Posted by pslip on Oct-17-2006 00:53:

Cool. If i can't sell everything together,i'll let you know. Fair?

Posted by nusty on Oct-17-2006 01:08:

selling the whole thing together won't be easy if people don't share your exact style of musical taste. I'd split the gear from the records.
offer bulk discounts on the records for the more you buy.

Used records are nearly worthless.

Expect at the most $5 per record - and half of what you own won't ever sell.

Yours truly...

okay. what if i said 1000 for all the records. and 1000 for the gear. do you think they would sell faster that way?

Posted by pslip on Oct-17-2006 01:19:

wishful thinking i guess.

Posted by pslip on Oct-17-2006 01:23:

I thought $1000 for 800 plus records is pretty good. I know that not all of them are the best, but still good to add to a collection.

Posted by rabbitjoker on Oct-17-2006 01:27:

If you're really motivated to get the most for your records, catalogue them and upload them into eBay (for sale via the "buy it now" option [eBay has a bulk auction creator software]) or some other electronic marketplace where people can buy them a-la-carte (usually $8 to $12 depending on condition).

Sell 100 records that way and you've made as much as you're asking for all 800.

I would go that route - however be warned: shipping vinyl can be like shipping egg shells. Buy some shipping boxes from Release and -always- pay for shipping insurance.

just because people didn't reply in 2 minutes didn't mean they disagree with you.

Sometimes people run TranceAddict as thier 'secondary' window open and are actually doing something else and only checking in from time to time.

Yah i know. I'm a little bored. But if they are going to sell,T.A will be the place i'm sure.

Posted by nusty on Oct-17-2006 02:33:

try tribe.ca in the buy and sell forums too. and then for TA use the sellers forum.

TRIBE won't accept new members. Plus something about my email. I think it's the hardest site to join. If you want to post it for me,that would be cool.

sorry rules state I can't do that.

you need a fixed email address... ie no hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc. Try using a rogers, school or other email address to sign up... then they do new members in batches so a bunch all get processed at once unless someone contacts alexd on your behalf to get yours done faster.

Thanks anyways.

I'm not familiar with ebay, so correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the buyer have to pay for shipping charges?

depends. it can go either way. as a seller you have the right to set the shipper means and demand payment as a condition of the transaction (or include it in your reserve price) or as a buyer if the previous option has not been placed in effect you may request specific shipping means and then pay the difference.
