filter sweeps in buildups

any tips on creating wicked filter sweeps for buildups? I think thats what theyre called.. you know like a gush of air thats filtered and automated to to enhance the impact of a build up.

White noise + lowpass filter, or highpass, or bandpass, or anything +sweep + delay? + distortion?bitcrushing? + pitch mod.
