Adam Beyer @ APT (10.24.06)
saw this on another forum (a breakbeats forum actually haha)... anyone know anything more about it? all i can say is WOW... our predictions were correct, about the smaller venues picking up where the larger venues are slacking nowadays
ill be there!
Too bad its a Tuesday.
yeah lol i just realized that... ill still be there, i dont have class wed. til 230pm
This has been in the party planner thread for awhile.
Not sure if we're going or not...next week is looking really rough with Trentemoller (who was at APT last night for Magda) on Thursday and Lee on Saturday.

might show up for this
I think it should be a pheno-minimal party!!!
lol - beyer is not minimal - he's known for his swedish drumcode techno sets - he's been playing some more minimal sounding sets, but i hope he brings the harder swedish sound on tuesday.
Part of the surprisingly fertile Swedish techno scene led by the pornophile savants at Svek Records, producer and DJ Adam Beyer concentrates on percussion to a large degree for his appropriately named Drumcodes imprint. Begun in mid-1996, the label released a dozen records during the next two years, half by Beyer himself, with others featuring Cari Lekebusch, Oliver Ho and Thomas Krome. Beyer's first album Decoded was released on Planet Rhythm in late 1996, and the remix album Recoded followed one year later. Another label run by Beyer, Code Red, has released productions by himself, Lekebusch, Krome and Joel Mull. As well, he has recorded for Svek as Concealed Project. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
would love to go but trentemller has priority and i can only do 1 this week..!

This week Swedish tall guy of techno Adam Beyer proves he still likes the thump, weighing in with a peaktime techno workout.
Together with the likes of Cari Lekebush and Joel Mull, Adam Beyer carved out a name for himself in the Swedish techno scene in the late nineties and early noughties with pulverising, loop-driven techno on outputs such as Primate and his own labels Drumcode and Code Red.
But last year's 'Fabric 22' showed Beyer was also a bit of a softie, unifying the harder stuff techno with the minimal bleeps of Alex Under and Dominik Eulberg. At the same time Beyer's 'A Walking Contradiction' was snatched up by Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva's Plus8 label, becoming one of the biggest tracks of the year, later popping up on mix CDs by Luciano and Miss Kittin.
On his RA podcast Beyer pulls another U-turn with a slick but banging mix where there's not a beat out of place. This one increased productivity in the RA office, we assure you.
What have you been working on recently?
The next thing I have coming out is the Drumcode ten year anniversary compilation. It includes seven new exclusive tracks from myself, Lekebusch, Samuel Session, Grindvik, Hardcell, Skoog and Mighty Thor.
Right now I'm on a US tour, I'm playing with Magda in LA tonight. Then I've got a bunch of Drumcode parties to promote the compilation and tenth anniversary of the label.
Where was the mix recorded?
At home in one take. No editing.
What are you up to next?
Tomorrow I'm off to New York for a couple of days, then Canada and then back down to Detroit to finish off the tour. In November I have some gigs in Europe then I'll spend three weeks in South America in December. After New Year's I'll go to Japan. Then the season is over and I'll take a break and work on some new music.

plus I want to hit up Trentemoller on Thursday. If he plays straight up techno though, I've already seen him spin that way at Awakenings. (That's just what I tell myself, so I don't feel as bad about missing him tonight.)
