I was curious if anyone has an estimate at what it would cost to fix the cd reading function on the cdj200. Mine broke this weekend and the place I went to said it would be 50 bucks just to look into it as a service fee. One of my friends had this same problem with his cdj800 under warrantee and said the bill came out to 250.
Rock a DIY job...
Don't even try to fix something like that on your own.

howd it break?
it just started givin me the e3801 error message or whatever, which according to the menu means the disc is bad, but I tried ten or so discs and they work fine on my other one.
Maybe your player's just dirty ?
Did you try a CD lens cleaner ?

No, don't do that.
You should never use CD lens cleaners in a CDJ.
It's even in the manual.

I'll rephrase that : soft CD cleaners without any liquid.
Pioneer says that so then can rip your butt off 50 just for cleaning a lens...
Good luck with that...
CDJ's are normal CD players, they are more akin to CD-ROM drives in your PC. They spin at much faster rates than a CD deck. If you want to risk you CDJ, then go right ahead.
