Thanks for the link!
Track 5 has almost the same bassline as Angello & Ingrosso - Click. Maybe a remix of it

I don't think i need to tell you Sam, but this IS the Tijs sound i fell in love with back in the day. Dammit, hopefully some haters will hear this and re-evaluate their respect of one of the scene's finest

+1. this set is sick as WHAT. WOOTT! #5 is really really sick ... cool mixing. brilliant track selection. i've gotta say this is the real tijs indeed. from the days when he had the legendary sets every1 loved. and much n much more. hopefully he releases some of his sets soon, since its hard to keep up with him when we dont hear his sets. andjust looking @ TL's doesnt really tell me a lot. hopefully he makes his next ISOS (IF he makes a new one of course) just like these kinda sets.

he's been playing more of these tunes for well over a year now, but lately he's been introducing them into his more mainstream sets [also remember that this half hour was from the beginning of a 5-hour set; it wasn't all like this].
in tijs' case, he hardly needs to spin housier tunes to achieve "lucrative" ends as most of his fans will happily lap up the latest trance-by-numbers pap; logic -- as well as recent comments -- would thus indicate that he's simply spinning the tunes he likes and finds most interesting (which, to varying degress, he's always done).

lol bullshit....House started to become more mainstream again last year with all the electro/techy tunes coming out and being played in every club, while Trance all but died...Tiesto sees that and starts to pump out House tunes...same way he jumped on the Techno band-wagon years ago.

i agree on that. but if you look @ tiesto's track-selestions of all his sets, he always used to play some stuff that was 'out of genre', or simply; not the 'usual' trance you expect from him, or the 'usual' trance he always plas/played. in the early days of tiesto (around 2000), the whole trance genre wasnt exploited that much as its now. the choices he could make then werent as much/big as nowadays. and what he played was 'new'. but he always used to play 'out-of-genre'-stuff. its just that since a couple of years, the choices he could make for that 'out-of-genre'-stuff were bigger. therefore, it might seem that he changed his style, a bit. nevertheless, i cant deny that tiesto is still the same as he was 6/7 yrs ago. things changed of course. but he was, and still is, a DJ that plays EDM in an era where there's still more n more attention for what is played, and this is an 'era' in which the whole EDM becomes (for a small bit) the backbone of modern pop-music. in the 70's, it was disco. in the 80's, you had rock. in the 90's, there was dance .. and thats growing more n more nowadays
thats just my opinion on all of tiesto's track-slection/playlists. its my vision. if you dont agree, plz feel free to critisize my opinion. (but dont flame me
) ... its kinda late now, so i need to go to bed (
), but if neceassry, ill try explain my view on this more/better ... and the translation from my opinion in dutch (my native language) and sometimes hard to translate to english. and i have issues with putting my feelings/ideas to words
oh yeah, by the way, some discussion is always good. but let us not make a so many-th tiesto-shit-or-not thread about this

yeah, but he didn't become a "techno" dj nor is he becoming a "house" dj now; he's just incorporating variety into the sets, not changing his entire style.
you can read into it cynically if you want (although djs do this all the time), but the bottom line is he's not exactly starving for fans. if he was spinning to emptier rooms and then jumped on a bandwagon i'd definitely agree with you, but he's still selling out gigs.
if anything, dropping these tracks will confuse and even alienate the gimps who constitute a majority of his audience.

Yes he still packs the house....but he is working in the "new" trend (namely House) the same way Pepsi throws on Disney characters, from the new movie that is out, on their cans to keep up with the times and draw in new people. hard to explain...yes Pepsi sells as much as always but they add the characters to reach another demographic with a marketing ploy. Make sense?
