Headphones
sorry for being dumb.
but how do the headphones work. Does one turntable play in one earphone and the other turntable play in the other?
or does the song on the second turntable play in ur earphones, and u hav to match the beats with the song thats playing on the main speakers.
Im confused
I'm no expert, but... you plug the headphones into the mixer, and you can play whichever TTs you want, like just the first one, or the 2nd, or both at the same time, and I think most of the mixers blend the sounds on both ears. So either you can beatmatch with both of them playing in the headphones, or you can put them on one-ear only with one song in the headphones, and beatmatch with your other listening to whats playing live.
Hope that helps..
okay
so... u plug headphones to ur mixer
now
u can choose if u wanna hear TT 1, or TT 2, and in most mixers (nowadayz), u can have both tunes in the headphones
but i prefer u should just put one in ur headphones and then get ur ear trained.. cause there might come a day when u will DJ at a club that dosen't allow 2 channels in da headphones, and then ur in trouble
just my 2 cents

It's not that they wouldn't allow, its that they cheap out and buy a crappy mixer, and you have to mix with it.
i have never mixed on a mixer that only allowed me to cue one or the other TT and not both
most mixers have a cue selector, and most allow your to hear one or the other or both, and some even have a little fader to allow you to even set how much of the cue and how much of the main out you want to hear
and i've never heard of a club getting cheap on sound equipment
even the shittiest of clubs and raves i've been to had a decent mixer and TTs
im just saying
i think u will be better off getting ur ear tranied to one ear on headphones one on the monitor

No... I wouldn't think so. But just in case, you should be prepared.

i think most clubs use the Pioneer DJM 500 or Allen & Heath 64
which are both EXCELENT MIXERS!!
(im talking about decent clubs)

Yea thanks for that mate. Uve really helped me out a lot there. I'll hav to do some more research before i make my decision, so thanks for the advice
Hey Mike
Well I would reccomend the Vestax PCV 175/275 Mixers which are both at great quality and they have 3 channels.
Turntables is tricky, best are Technics, Stanton and Vestax, but they are all expensive.
You cab visit www.denon.com
they have a pretty decent digital turntable which doesnt cost much.
But if you are only starting I think you should go with CD players.
In that case I would reccomend the Pioneer CDJ-100S or Denon DN2600 Players.

Technics are the standart turntables in clubs, since the 1972 when the SL-1200 series started, almost no changes were made in the engine area, the turntable is very solid and durable and can hold up for allot of years.
The Vestax is also a very solid turntable with a strong engine, the best model for your price range i believe will be the PDX-2000.
Stanton produce some great quality turntables, again a solid engine and good durability.
All of these decks are very accurate and prestigeous.

The price reffers to each turntable
But its a good investment.

| Originally posted by Scorchio Well, thats not true in all cases. Believe me when I say that most clubs use mixers you never even heard of ![]() Mixers such as Rane, Mackie, Ecler. Of course the Commercial companies are being used too, allot of clubs hold the Vestax PMC-55 which is the most amazing mixer I have ever seen, and of course the wonderful DJM-600. The A&H is not so common mostly because its expensive price. |
No argument here
