Underated: DJ Mason

Yeah, he made the big hit, exceeder, but this guy is no joke and rocks the fuck out of any party. Many many many releases/remixes from him out this half this year damn!

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Oct-24-2006 06:48:

its difficult to think of someone well known and not just local but for underated im going to say Matthew Dekay for his DJing although ive only heard sets he sounds so solid and has very good transitions.

too many overated dj's...

Haha yeah, he got quite a bit of shit for that. The first time I saw him perform he was opening for tiesto in Lima, Peru- he played house and breaks and busted in the violin as well- wicked set.

He has never made trance - he just seems to make friends with all the trance djs Some of his stuff has either wound up on Ferry's label, will wind up there, or almost did haha...

He doesn't do the live violin much more except for special gigs- he decided to put it down for a while- I always thought it kicked ass, and he really only used it during breakdowns to add a bit extra

Arksun

Posted by Kality on Oct-24-2006 15:38:

i wouldnt say this guy is the most underated DJ but he is truly an amazing but yet very underated DJ. Charles Feelgood

Posted by TazZ-erT on Oct-24-2006 15:40:

David Call. The stuff the guy has given me over the last few months has been VERY VERY impressive, yet he remains unsigned.

BEE TEE GEE

BTG, PEOPLE! Nah, but I really liked his "superset".

John Digweed, underrated , i know, he's regarded as one of the best ever, etc etc, but i find he has always been under the sasha shadow while being a better dj.

ppl who know wat they'er on about will say he's better.......but the majority of people would say sasha just because hes more well known aswell....so id hav to agree with u there

lol nah, his trackselection is good at times but he dosent change it for weeks...it gets boring..i actually got sick of electro house because of him.

underrated: Damian Lazarus, except for the people who truly know.

overrated: who cares.

Marc Mitchell had been under-rated for years.

Posted by fbgdavidson on Oct-25-2006 02:44:

Underrated:
Snake Sedrick, Yvel & Tristan, Benz & MD

All deserve WAYYY more exposure than they do. Have been listening to Benz & MD for a few years now and their production work is as superb as their mixes...well Greg Benz seems to do the live stuff.

underrated : i totally agree with matthew dekay. fucking phenomenal club dj. can run a dancefloor like the best of them. total crowd control, amazing track selection, smooth transitions with key mixing and great knowledge of eqing and structures of tracks.

overrated : no comment

Underrated: Andrew Bennett and Matthew Dekay

Overrated: not even going to go there

Definitely agree with this. These guys are among the best prog producers of the past few years. Also add Jay Lumen, he's shaping up to a be a great prog producer.

My pick for most underrated is Demi - Everything I've heard from him has been exceptional.

And as with everyone, why even discuss who's most overrated in yet another thread? It's already the topic of plenty of threads on TA every week.
